My friend and I are both vegans. We went for lunch here and were very impressed. The fixed price lunch menu offers great value for money and we had a very nice bottle of wine. I highly recommend the vegan apple strudel dessert, which was to die for. The restaurant is slightly off the beaten track but well worth making... More

I had walked past this restaurant many times and had always been interested by their strap lines 'organic, vegetarian, healthy'... not many places in London do these sorts of food, so I was really keen to go. I went there with a friend after work and we were actually slightly disappointed by the food. I had the mushroom burger and... More

We had dinner at Amico Bio near the Barbican, next to St. Bart's church. We had previously not had a great experience at the Holborn branch, but decided to give this one a try. Our food was excellent. My wife had two dishes from the a la carte menu; I had the set dinner (£22.50 including an unusually excellent rose'... More

Lovely meal and an easy going atmosphere with a very attentive service. The meat eaters were impressed too!

I hate to write a poor review but feel so cheated to have wasted money here. The food is beautifully presented but completely lacks flavour. Vegetable kebabs comprised cooked peppers, onion and greens rolled up in a tortilla and topped with raw carrot and squash. The dish desperately needed something more but the little pool of red pepper puree added... More

I came to this vegetarian Italian-ish restaurant for lunch. I was a bit sceptical – I thought it might all be a bit too healthy for my liking, but actually I was pleasantly surprised. I had some fritters to start, followed by an aubergine and tomato dish and ice cream to follow. All were tasty. With three courses at lunch... More

I still can't make up my mind how people could rate this restaurant with one star, stating it was a terrible experience. I went there twice and our dinner was superb. I don't eat dairy products but there are quite a lot of different meals to choose from. We had the three set course menu. We also ordered some tasty... More

I was dissappointed as the menu looked good and the chick pea fritters were great but the rest of the food was dissappointing. Some of the dishes were regular Italian vegetarian dishes and these were a poor copy. Think it's trying to be all things to all men/women and not achieving much well.

As a vegetarian, i thought it will be a success. the place looks a bit strange, half vintage half modern, the kitchen door was open and i could see the tired chef... The starter was a mix of Arancini balls, overall OK - but not much of a taste. for a main, i had the Tagliatella with pesto - it... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
