We used to frequent a small Japanese place in the unlikely setting of Drummond Street. Tucked amid the Indian restaurants was a gem of a sushi bar, with a handful of seats, serving sublime sushi and sashimi. To our chagrin it closed, as the husband...More

the food is really great, although a bit expensive (even for london standards) with a decent service you would leave the restaurant happy, but unfortunately the service completely ruins the experience 4 stars given only out of respect for the chef

The food was incredible fine and the atmosphere was very relaxed. However the service was terrible. The waitress was so rude and not bother to explain the food. Hope she will get better one day.

We have been lucky enough to have enjoyed authentic Kaiseki cuisine in Japan, and we rate those culinary experiences as amongst the most memorable of our lives. There is something really special about this style of cuisine when done well - the freshness of the...More

I visited The Shiori for my birthday in January 2015, and have been a fan of the marvellously talented Takashi and Hitomi since the smaller Drummond street premises that they left a couple of years ago. Kaiseki is an art form when executed well, and...More

Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is the physical expression of brevity, not overly indulging in panache, but emitting an aura of subtle elegance. The restaurant can...More

Good food and good value but as a single traveller I felt a bit unwelcome. Large noisy parties were constantly given attention but the 3 lonely singles seemed to be ignored, basic service was all that was extended - felt they wanted us to eat...More

Agree with previous reviews about the rudeness of the front of house. Not sure if it's a cultural difference or a personality issue, but the lady does come across rather rudely and disengaged. The food however was such a lovely surprise. Beautiful presentation as well...More

Subtle perfection. Not Cheap, but sublime. Up there with Umu, Dinings, Zuma , and Ikeda. Tastes that I never knew existed. Very, very Japanese. Kaseiki menu only. This is the real deal folks.
