We booked a table for 4 people at 6 p.m. and arrived at 5 p.m. We said to the bartender that we were early and waited patiently for our table to be ready. At 6 p.m, he told us that the table had been "double booked" and that it was not possible to go upstairs! Highly unprofessional and rude to... More

Went there for afternoon tea with a friend last Sunday 22nd January, having previously visited many times and enjoyed it. The service was awful, place was all full but it's tiny anyway and they had 3 waitresses. Took ages for them to take our order. First, they brought the tea and another waitress came to check what we've had ordered... More

This place is perfect if you like tea and cake in a quaint traditional setting. The pots of tea are huge, and the choice covers a whole variety of interesting blends. The cakes were a The only let down was the service, which was pleasant and friendly but very slow. Our waitress tried to take an order from us when... More

A friend and I were told we had to check out the secret tea room. We made reservations for around lunch time not knowing what to expect. We walked away full after having a pot of tea, finger sandwiches, cupcakes and dessert for a set price. The service was incredible and I would highly recommend a visit.

Wonderful, affordable cream tea and sandwiches with such friendly, sweet service! Absolutely loved! Got slightly lost entering but just the go into the pub called the Coach and Horses and they'll direct you upstairs to the tea room.

I had the afternoon tea with a friend. We had the vegan chocolate cake with peanut butter and vegan carrot cake which was delicious as was the passion fruit cream and blueberry cheesecake. The sandwiches were boring and not very appetising, plus there was soo many. You get 6 sandwiches PER PERSON which is way too many and a very... More

Despite booking several weeks in advance and receiving a reminder text the night before, when we arrived we were told they had no record of our booking. Weren't interested in looking at our cell phone booking acknowledgement. When we were taken upstairs they gave us a crappy table in the middle of the cramped room - by pointing to it,... More

Above the Coach and Horses pub in Greek Street, London West End, this Secret Tea Room transfers one back to the 1940´s with its furnishings, decour and music. Ask for the Secret Tae Room at the bar of the pub and you will be guided into the past. High tea or just tea and scones, it is well worth the... More

not exactly what u expect while thinking ''tea rooms'' but it is a little lovely place...nice and cosy, jazzy music in the background and waitresses looking like pin-up girls...small..simply...not for people who expect high standards afternoon tea but I would go again! great value for money...and we have actually enjoyed our evening very much :)

Starting positively I liked the mismatched crockery and the decor. Also that the staff were dressed for the forties and the background music made for a perfect atmosphere. We had afternoon tea which consisted of two types of sandwich (egg and cucumber). The menu said a selection and named three. The bread was nasty cheap white bread, the type that... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
