Two of us had lunch here on a weekday. The £28 three course menu (with cheaper options for one or two course) was great value and every single thing we had was excellent. The food is attractively presented on real crockery (rather than the latest gimmick) and there was a decent amount of sauces, not just smears. Wine is offered... More

We were looking for lunch in London and we enjoy gourmet food. The price is reasonable at 3 courses for £28.00.For starters my husband ordered crab raviolo with samphire, brown shrimps, fondue of leeks and bisque sauce and I ordered roast Orkney scallop with boneless chicken wings, Jerusalem artichoke purée and crisp pancetta. Both were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We... More

We arrived for two and quickly showed to the table offered a drink ect. Food was good, classic dishes, please to see no foams. The raviol crab was delicate, though the duck egg was very rich with strong flavours and served with a couple slices of heart. Chicken with truffles was very light and the beef a bit too thinly... Medlar is a restaurant in the truest sense of that word's origins - a place that restores. It restores your faith that there are still some places which understand how to give that elusive combination of service and food which, for a brief moment of time, restores your delight in superb ingredients served beautifully, restores your appreciation of what it... The food was all excellent, but it is the cheese board that made my night. This is the best cheese board I can remember seeing and the lady serving the cheese was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Between my immediate family we have now eaten here x6 and this restaurant never fails on any aspect of the dining experience. Our visits have all been for lunch and Medlar offers fantastic value for the quality of the food offered and has consistently maintained its high standards. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a culinary delight to visit.

Medlar is a restaurant that I could return to over and over again. I'm glad to see it has maintained its very high standards. We had lunch on our wedding anniversary and it was perfect. The food was outstanding and service as you'd expect was excellent. The restaurant staff were extremely knowledgable, attentive and friendly and I can't wait to... More

Excellent! Second visit and just as good as the first when they had there star! Why on earth this restaurant has lost its star I don't know, far in front of alyn Williams, Connaught, social eating house and many more! You got this one wrong inspectors!

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
