Cold beer on a sunny afternoon a great stop off for the family. Deceptively large inside and great for people watching outside.

My wife and I had a really nice time at this excellent Tavern. First off, it's in a great location if you want to see the City, walk the river or even cross the Blackriars Bridge to get to the south side of the Thames....More

Blackfriar Pub is one of our favorites in London. Originally there was a Dominican monastery on this site from 1276-1539. The pub's history began in 1875 and is the only art nouveau pub in London. The walls are decorated with scenes of friars in marble...More

Great selection of beers and drinks. Wonderful decor. We didn't eat here as the placed gets packed with both locals and tourists. I would recommend stopping by for a pint but if eating, it is likely better to get reservations in advance.

As the Blackfriar Pub was near our hotel we tried it our first night in London. Enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service so much that we came back again on our last night. Great shepherd pie, fish and chips, beer (IPA) and service. The pub...More

This place is fantastic, outside and in. You have to see it and make sure you take a look in the restaurant - look up! The food is simple pub grub but very tasty and plenty of it.

This is a pub with most unusual art nouveau decoration, themed around the Blackfriars, Dominican monks, who previously had a Priory on this site. It is on a wedge of land opposite Blackfriars station. I have been here a couple of times, most recently just...More

I have been meeting old work friends regularly for lunch for the last 10 years or so with Blackfriars station being an ideal station for us all to get to. The Founders Arms on the south of the river has been the usual venue with...More

Near to St. Paul Cathedral, an average pub to drink a beer but do not plan to eat there. When we arrived, none helped us to sit down and to order not to explain the menu. Then, my wife wanted an apperol spritz and did...More

Today was the hottest day of the year. Thank goodness that the Blackfriar had a table for the 4 of us in the pleasantly cool restaurant area at the back. Eating outside would have been just to hot! Built in 1875 and with its unique...More

I wouldn't take kids to this pub at that time of night. It seems to revert to more of a drinking venue in the evening. We had a lovely (and good value) breakfast in Joes Kitchen and Coffee House which is not far away and is... More
