The venue is a pub with a large outside area with wooden tables. We sat down inside and ordered from the menu.. The waitress who served us was rude and surly. I had ordered fish and chips which included mushy peas, but when it arrived...More

Spending a nice sunny day on Hampstead Heath we decided to pop in here for lunch. We had our daughter and a dog with us. The place is very welcoming to both children and pets. We sat in the lovely beer garden. It was very...More

Great pub from the 19 4th century right by the bus depot near Royal Free hospital. Nice beer garden. Pretty decor, rather reasonably priced food and nice crowds of pretty people. Place to drink and chat on nice and warm night.

When the pub is almost empty, and you order BBQ hamburger and chips, you expect them to come together. In our case the chips arrived with the other meals, and the burger 10 mins later ( I was timing) get the basics right my friends...More

We went for dinner with friends and their 9 month old baby. The food was ok. Twice members of staff tried to take unfinished drinks and gave us a dirty look when we asked them not to. Really bad attitudes, such a shame.

We recently hosted our Son’s wedding reception at Garden Gate. We had the whole beer garden outside space for the special day. With about 100 guests, we had plenty of room to sit, mingle and dance later on. From the start of our planning, Alex...More

This place is a total gem. Amazing food. We both had BBQ, gorgeous. Remember you need to order sides as extras, though, you only get what you ask for. Reasonably priced, too, for London. Definitely worth a visitMore

The only place in Hampstead for fresh real ale and great food. I can come as a no body and meet nice social people with a wink and a smile. Staff fantastic with good knowledge of of what they are selling.

Weird crowd, stressed staff, lame vibes. So many better watering holes in Hampstead!! It's located right at the entrance to the Heath, but it's not worth a visit in the slightest. Check out the Spaniard's Inn or, even better, the Flask!

Service is always good, with a cool vibe about the pub, but I think it constantly lets itself down by the standard and cleanliness of the toilets... visiting a handful of times over the past month, the gents have either run out of soap or...More

Welcome to The Garden Gate, the front door to the best alfresco fun in north London. Our beer garden is one of the city's finest, while inside is pretty inspiring, too. This 19th century pub has a long tradition of accommodating weary walkers and lovely locals from Hampstead Heath, and today we're doing it in style with fresh, home-cooked pub food, a stunning choice of speciality drinks and an ultra-relaxed atmosphere.
