As ever this place is pure wow. The food is seriously fine. The service is great. Started with a selection if dumplings. The pea shoit and chicken was setiously good, the I had the braised porc which was melt in the mouth. Also had seabass in ginger and braisrd tofu with mushrooms, enough to convert me to vegetarian. The jasmine... More

Very middle of the road, would not rush back. Welcoming friendly but table service was very erratic. Best dish we ordered by far was the salt & pepper squid, it was crispy, tasty, totally delicious. Other dishes were just OK.

We were looking forward to this visit. Having spent time in Asia we are always looking out for restaurants serving authentic food. So one Sunday lunchtime in February ... Large dining area, many Chinese customers. First problem encountered was the service. Very friendly, but dishes arrived at odd times so some were on starters, some on soup and some on... More

One of the best Chinese in town. Great presentation and good flavours. Big dining area and so it's not too noisy if you'd like to talk to your friend/partner etc in comparison to other Chinese places. Lack of service a little and so little guidance on food or delayed service (hence the 4-star) Been there twice and probably would go... More

It was Valentine and we were in Baker Street , so decided to go to the Royal China first. They told us that is was 45 pounds per person minimum, so we left immediately. Outrageous that somebody will dictate the customer how much he or she will spend. So we walked in to this restaurant. Unfortunately they brought us three... More

Went as last minute treat on a Saturday evening. It was busy, but the service was second to none. The food was truly excellent. Really enjoyed the Kung Pao chicken, as it wasn't overdone on the chilli. It's on the expensive side, but worth every single penny. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return!

Food was wonderful - I started with Seafood Hot & Sour Soup - which is one of my favorite dishes - it did not disappoint - not too thick - broth had a good bite to it and it had plenty of seafood in it. My main was Spicy Singapore Noodles - I am not a big noodles fan but... More

I came to this restaurant on the recommendation by friends who understood my high standards for dim sum. Given the high demand over the Chinese New Year weekend, I was only able to make a reservation for 2:30pm. When we arrived, we were shown to our table, but I thought it odd that they did not provide a dim sum... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
