We are still fairly new to Indian food, but we really enjoyed Thali. Tried a few different dishes across all 3 of us, and we all were pretty happy with our dinners. The time they took to prepare our dinner after we ordered was a little slow, but the servers were very attentive. Plus, the ambience of the restaurant and... More

We had the chicken korma, Peshwari naan, and aloo gobi. It was all absolutely delicious! We went on a busy night and service was still good. Would definitely go back.

Food was as good as our previous experience. We ordered the veg thali which was served with delicious curries, rice and naan. The naan was excellent it's texture was perfect. The portions were adequate and we pushed ourselves to finish everything on the thali. The ambience was good too. Highly recommended restaurant.

Staying in the area & wanting a curry, we headed to Thali. Being a Tuesday night we got a table without a problem, though the restaurant did fill up as the evening went on. We had starters & mains, both were delicious. The menu included your usuals but also had a few different choices. The fish curry I had was... More

Last night we had an "impromptu" supper at Thali. The restaurant interior is chic with excellent lighting. The staff charming and very helpful. We had four starters (the menu recommends two each) although we polished them off two or three would have been more than enough. They were all vegetarian - potatoes, spinach and chickpeas in various combinations with yoghurt... More

My partner and I waited an hour for our meal that was a disappointment when it finally arrived. We passed on an appetiser and went straight to the first course after a small plate of poppadums were placed on our table with just a blob of mango chutney on the side; no onion salad, no lime pickle, no raita, just... The restaurant is well reviewed on Trip Advisor and we wanted to try an Indian restaurant in Kensington somewhat near Harrods. We had a 7 PM reservation and arrived right on time. The restaurant was not yet full (it did fill towards 7:30-8 PM) yet we were seated quite near the door and it was cold out. Yes, we could... More

Visited today with my son. Walked in with no reservation and were politely given a seat at the bar and a table within 5 minutes. We only required a main course but we were served well and advised on the menu. Very good chicken and prawn dishes served with rice. Reasonably priced for this area of London, within 40 yards... Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
