The food popped with flavor. I had prawns in mild coconut sauce. My husband had a heavier beef dish.

I read before we went reviews that said this place was a hit and miss. For us this was a miss. Ordered something that is usually a safe bet for me, but did not like this. I wouldn't fault the place for that, but the...More

The food was good, but the service was poor. We waited for our food over half an hour. When we finally asked for our food, it was served, but then waitress put the food on the table and then we had to wait more, when...More

The food at this restaurant (within an hotel) was actually quite good, well executed and with a good taste. The price too was quite reasonable. However, at lunchtime, it is rather soulless, even with a few tables covered. Its a pity, given the food. The...More

South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque
white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's
easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with
superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and
Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely
child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to
mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall)
such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming

Well it depends what you order. Your meal can be as cheap as £12-15 for a one meal dish like Curry Laksa or Mee Goreng.

Umami, the newest addition to the Kensington & Chelsea restaurant scene, is perfectly located on Cromwell Road, just around the corner from Gloucester Road underground station. Umami (the word literally means " A pleasant savoury taste" and is the 5th basic taste after sweet, salty, bitter and sour), offers a range of authentic dishes from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam as well as some newer signature dishes. Many dishes are available in two sizes "Tasting Portions" and "Sharing Portions", encouraging guests to share and try many of the unique flavours, whilst the set Tasting Menus offer an effortless way to dine your way around the South China Sea. All this can be enjoyed in an informal yet stylish contemporary setting with design influenced by a Feng Shui Master from Singapore. Background music featuring jazz and classics from the swing era adds to the chic atmosphere of Umami. Private groups up to 90 can also be catered for.
