Was really excited to visit La Bodega Negra as one of the best things about living in London is the food! I visit quite a lot of good restaurants due to the nature of my job, but never taken the time to leave a review. But had to share my experience from last night. I was there for a friends... More

I found this place through an article on Timeout -- lots of amazing reviews and so I thought I would give it a go. It was a bit tricky at first to figure out where to go, as it is easy to confuse the upstairs café part of Bodega Negra on Moor Street with the actual downstairs restaurant on Old... More

Having always wanted to go here, and hearing good things I was excited to go here for a Friday night dinner and drinks. Venue is awesome, through the neon light facade and walking in had that mysterious vibe. Staff were initially very attentive. However weren't provided a drinks/wine list, asked for one and ordered straight away. Our drinks however didn't... More

La Bodega Negra is a fun place for a dinner any day of the week. The food is good but the atmosphere is the main attraction of the restaurant. Great lighting and buzzy for an evening out. If you are a serious Mexican foodie I wouldn't recommend.

I'd read so many great reviews praising La Bodega Negra, but left very confused as to why it seems to attract so much praise. If you take away the novelty of a secret door I found the whole experience to be rank average. All of our party found the food to be ok and nothing more. I would never return... More

We had a good quick snack at 4.00 PM between meals. I ordered the Pork Taco and the soft shell carb burger with accompaniments like cole slaw, guacamole, sour cream and another sauce with some tasty green rice on the side. Food was gratifying comfort food which came in five minutes. We enjoyed our break and snack and were on... More

We went in for a few drinks on Saturday evening and left without having a drink! We went to the bar to order, my partner knew what he wanted, I got a drinks menu of a barman and had a look. Then once I decided we went back to place our order, the original barman was off talking and laughing... More

I had wanted to try this place for ages and thought I would surprise my husband on our anniversary. Once through the novelty entrance we were seated in a corner table good for people watching. The waiter was quick to appear and gave us a few hints on how much to order. The food came even quicker although they did... More

I have been to la bodega negra several times on dates, and have enjoyed it for its location and atmosphere, despite it being expensive for what it is. However, on my last visit, my date and I were one of the few people sat downstairs and the restaurant was quieter than normal. Whilst deciding on whether to have dessert, we... More

From the moment you arrive this restaurant is different!! The Margaritas were good, the service excellent and the food really good. My only reason for saying "really good" is that I found the halibut ceviche disappointing - it lacked the citrus flavour that a ceviche should have and it was quite bland ... However, all the other dishes were very... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
