Booked in advance before heading to the theatre. Food was of good quality, but not an extensive choice on the menu. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and very busy so booking is definitely recommended. We were served by a member of staff who was...More

We arrived just after they opened and were still lucky to get a table. Fabulous atmosphere and great choice of roast dinners. Between us we had the lamb, pork and sirloin and all were delicious with wonderful gravy, vegetables, roast potatoes and giant Yorkshire puddings....More

Great neighbourhood gastropub, with awesome atmosphere and very kind staff. Ordered a steak that was one of the best I have ever had and a killer scotch egg. Very attentive waiters. A bit on the pricier side, but it is London after all.

The private room was exceptional and quite different. We really enjoyed the experience. We had the feasting menu which we were a little dissapointed by we understand the concept but the food lacked any seasoning and was quite bland, haven't said all of that we...More

Had dinner on Sat weekend. Very good food, although the sirloin was a little tough (as per comment from two guests). The fish was excellent. Being a regular here, I think Sunday Roast is best in London. Our waiter was a little standoff-ish - not...More

What a cozy spot this is on a cold November evening. We came here for a Sunday roast, what a feast! Portions are generous, staff is friendly, ambiance lovely. You will leave full and happy!

Can't beat this place. The food is excellent, best pub food we have eaten in a long time - there are so many over-rated, disappointing places in this country that it really is worth writing about when a place like this comes along. The fish...More

Wanted to give the Pig and Butcher a second chance. My first visit was marred by slow service and unknowledgeable staff. Immediately realised that again the young lady serving us had no clue about the menu. Shame because we all felt sorry for her while she...More

Hi It is a while since I have been there but I do remember there being roast artichoke being on the menu. Maybe best to call as I do know that the menu is slightly different each day.

The Pig and Butcher occupies a handsome pub built in the mid 1800's on what was fields used by farmers to rest and feed their livestock before being sent to Smithfield's Meat Market. We have brought the pub back to it's roots and receive carcasses straight from the farm and butcher them on site. We specialise in rare breeds such as White Park cattle, Iron Age pigs and Hebridean lamb while our friend Seb at Chart Farm supplies our game - if you haven't tried his venison you haven't lived! In summer we grill over coal and wood on our specially built Robata grill. In winter we brine, cure, smoke and braise.Vegetables come from Kent and are as good and as fresh as anything you'll find in this country. Our fish is supplied by Rupert on the south coast. He calls us in the morning and tells us what the day boats have caught and what he has. This is one of the reasons our menu changes so much - we literally don't know what fish we'll be serving until we have spoken with Rupert! We take our inspiration from farmhouse tables across Europe. Food is served simply and with little fuss! Share lots of small plates or a single big plate. We like the idea of bringing conversation back to the dining table and what better way to do it than sharing/stealing food? Think of food as Granny used to make…
