Always consistent. Good study spot but not during busy meal times. Good coffee and pastries. A neighbourhood favourite

La Gourmandia is situated in Holborn not far from Russell Square Tube Station and the restaurant is concealed behind the façade of a snack/coffee bar. The establishment is atmospheric but simple with a concrete floor and sturdy wooden trestle tables flanked by some well populated wine racks. We opted for the Open Table Menu which offered 3 or 4 choices... More

Went there with some friends as this place had been recommended to me by others friends. It's bigger than it looks from the outside as there is a room in the back, where we sat. There was plenty of space in the table, as well as plenty between table. Not a crowded feeling at all even though the place was... More

As a regular customer the the nearby hospital, we've also been fans of this cafe/restaurant. It seems the busyness of the place has created an atmosphere where the owner doesn't care if that particular customer stays or leaves. In the past month we've popped in quite a few times and most times been greeted with the same attitude. Whilst the... More

The perfect combination. French and Italian love of food, imagination, excellent skills, and a lovely friendly team of staff. We went for Saturday brunch. The stuffed baby squid was delicious and beautifully presented. The brandade de morue was delicate and full of flavour at the same time. A good and not overpriced wine selection..... Yes. We'll be back.

I had a meal with a bunch of friends at Gourmandina on Lambs Conduit last night... wonderful... the food was excellent - I can personally recommend the pappardelle lamb dish - beautiful, and my mates all loved their choices too... Brilliant.

Delightful cafe, quite small but worth the squeeze. I think it is possible to reserve a table but we walked in and found a place to sit. The baguettes are amazing and come accompanied by wonderful ''salad'' choices (grain and ham/cous cos and cheese etc). They also have yummy looking savoury tarts and filled galettes. It is very French in... More

I have visited La Gourmandina several times, for personal and business dinners. The quality of the food and service has been excellent every single time. The food is a good mix of Italian and French cuisines. During the last visit, my friend and I shared the La Panelle; the chickpea bread just melted in my mouth. We had the pan... More

I popped in for a quick lunch only to be confronted by rudest french waitress I have ever met. I politely asked for a glass of water and boy was that not received well, interrupting me to tell me how busy she was before I had even finished my sentence. She purposefully then ignored me for next ten minutes and... More
