The port tasting menu is definitely worth a try. The tapas that they offer here was so good, very tasty and filling. We only had a few but were not that hungry... but looking at the other people's dishes they looked amazing! Our dishes were very tasty and very reasonable priced

Found online from researching dinner before the theatre. The port house was highly recommended and I highly agree! Such a cute little restaurant, low lighting, candles, well arranged and a huge menu choice. I can't see how anyone couldn't find something to eat here! Ordered about 10 dishes to share because we were so spoilt for choice. Recommend the black... More

Lots of small plates available at prices from £5.75 to £11.95. Very good food and their wine and sherry list was impressive.

Went with friends and being highly recommended. It turned out to be a bit of a let down. Quite a few items were not on the menu, the portions are tiny and the lighting is terrible. All my food looked grey!! I'm not sure if they have deliberately set the lighting this way to disguise the colour.

I've been here many times and usually the food is usually outstanding. Not tonight. Tonight it was greasy and horrible. Slow service. Didn't enjoy it. Also got the wrong order which we should have kept as it looked nicer than the food we did order. The prawn dishes were nice. The tempura aubergine was just so very greasy. It actually... More

My colleague and I were taking in the sights around our hotel (Strand Palace) and came across The Port House. Wow, were we lucky! It's like sitting in a restaurant at the Plaza Major in Madrid. It's a bar and restaurant with great wine choices and as you would expect a fabulous selections of ports. My colleague embraced the gin... More

Dive off the chaos of the Strand and into this Oasis of calm. A dimly lit, elongated restaurant which was playing the best of Roy Orbinson when we went in and serving carafes of rose and with a gin menu. The menu itself is tapas and more tapas all equally good . Excellent service. Thoroughly recommended

I've visited The Port House 4 times after finishing work on At a main West End theatre next door. Usually on a Tues-Thurs night. Each time (except the last time) I've asked for a table to eat.. I'm then asked (by a different person each time I've visited) if I've booked (usually there are about 10-15 people in there, so... More

Situated right next door to The Adelphi, this small fronted tapas bar is not to be missed. The furniture and lighting is cleverly organised in the long, narrow footage to provide an intimate and inviting atmosphere. We sampled a small selection of the tempting tapas plus a bottle of rose cava and were so encouraged that we will definitely return... More

Having seen that this restaurant got good reviews we decided to try it out. Early evening mid week and it was already busy, but we only had to wait a few minutes before a table became free. Probably shouldn't have waited at the bar, the gin and tonic was very nice, but a bit pricey for us out-of-towner's. Service was... More
