I booked an afternoon tea for a friend's birthday. On arrival I had told the waitress I had a peanut allergy she was unsure on what I meant and got a manager. The manager assured us she was aware what had nuts in and would...make amendments. She took our order of hot chocolates then brought out our afternoon tea. To our surprise it had macaroons on which is known to contain almonds (nuts) as we alerted the manager she said 'it just contains almonds' which we had to reiterate it contains nuts which I am allergic to. She then went to get a new plate of food due to her error and on her way back to me, placed a fresh macaroon on the plate again, we pointed out yet again that I am allergic to nuts to which she then questioned why I was drinking the hot chocolate she served me if my allergy was that bad - not at any point did she tell us there was traces/containing. After her third attempt she brought out a simple plate of custard tarts/fruit however my trust in the establishment was very minimal. We did not get much of an apology for their lack of understanding and care to what is a very common allergy in the food industry. I emailed their customer services within a week of my visit to explain that I believe there is a training need required in that branch as I was concerned for other customers with allergies however it is now January and I still have not had a response. My family have also emailed and tweeted them and not had a response. I did not need an apology of any form I just wanted an acknowledgement. Very disappointing as I had been looking forward to visiting there for some time.More

I received a buy-a-gift voucher for afternoon tea with Prosecco for 2 people. I was sceptical after reading the reviews online & went there expecting a below average experience., particularly after having visited the Ritz earlier this week for afternoon tea. Upon entering, I was...instantly blown away by how beautiful the decor inside the Grand, Cafe Concerto in Westfield, the village was. I informed staff it was my son’s 13th birthday & they could not have done anymore for us, literally anything we requested was managed with a smile & kind words. In particular Kamel & Marta were truly amazing at making my sons birthday extra special. The food was served beautifully & the cakes were better tasting than those at the Ritz & the sandwiches were on par!! Bearing in mind this experience cost £180 less than the Ritz for the same amount of drinks, cocktail & food. I would highly recommend this branch and would not hesitate to purchase a buy-a-gift voucher as a gift going forward.More

This place is not grand at all when staff are not trained to serve and foods are mouldy. We visited this Cafe in White City, Westfield Shopping centre. I thought it would be a nice place to have an afternoon tea with my kids. I...have to say staff and waitresses are untrained, really not knowing what to do or say, When we have our tea, we had the scorns which were still warm but noticed the cakes were mouldy, We pointed it out to the manager who took the food away like a flash and dashed to the till ready to print out a voucher to compensate, It is to show it has happened often. We ignored the voucher in his hand, They don't seem to understand they just served mouldy unfit food for consumption and ruined our day, All they can think it is saying meaningless sorry and giving the unhappy customers a few pounds and carrying on. Come on do your part - train your staff and don't serve rotten cakes!More

We visited Caffe Concerto White City (The village branch) this evening (29/12/2021). I was absolutely disgusted by the attitude of one of the members of staff ( Lady with the long hair plate and hat). She was rude, full of attitude, dismissive and over all...negative. Besides being rude to us, she was arguing and being rude to other members of staff too, right in front of us! We went for some nice drinks and desserts to whine down and enjoy our evening, but her disgusting attitude added so much negativity to our day and mood. She seemed like she absolutely hates her job. People like that shouldn’t be allowed to work in hospitality! Luckily the manager (blond lady wearing black) was lovely and so was a young member of staff (young boy, with hair bun) and Francesco, who (thank God) took over our table and apologised for the other lady’s attitude. I was never going to set foot in cafe Concerto again and I definitely would have stopped friends and family from visiting too, but thanks to Francisco’s lovely attitude and hospitality, we will be visiting again. The manager was away on her break, so I couldn’t discuss this with her, but I am hoping they will see this review and train the horrible member of staff on how to communicate with customers and humans in general (including her colleagues). Other than that, the ambiance was nice, decor was lovely and the drinks and desserts were average.More

Very surprised to see such bad reviews on here. If I'd have seen before I went it probably would have put me off. However having been here three times to meet old work friends I've got to say the food has always been excellent. The...risotto is perfect. Yes the staff dont always give the attention to customers but it hasn't put as off, probably cos we are too busy chatting anyway.More

Extremely unprofessional service, cakes not worth the money. Avoid this coffee place, for those prices you expect a luxury service but you will be very disappointed. Do yourself a favour and go to your local Caff, you might as well. Caffe Concerto... invest in training...your staff beyond knowing how to take a payments and taking money from customers because it seams they don`t know the menu and what they are selling. Also flat white is made with full fat milk unless requested different from consumer so you really should have that if you have flat white on the menu if not (stupidly) mention that on the menu because I'd never order that if I knew. Absolutely infuriating and shambles of a business you are running in Westfield/ White City, not the staffs fault clearly Maher Ahmad AL-HAJJAR invest in training your teams on product and hospitality (and possibly some English language) not just grabbing consumers money. AH! The baguette and ciabatta was tasty and presented nicely, cutlery clean and the glasses clean that is where it ended...More

Great dessert. Unfortunately, exceptionally poor service. Staff need to be trained better and learn how to smile even when it’s busy.

Nice cosy restaurant in a corner with black ceiling and pretty chandelier. Good helpful waiter with delicious food. If you sit near to the window, then you will see the life outside on the alley floor.

Visited again in October 2021 as had a birthday voucher for Prosecco Afternoon Tea for 2. Had made a confirmed booking for 4.30 which had specified it was my birthday treat. Not one member of staff acknowledged this. A bit disappointing but wasn't too bothered....My husband doesn't drink tea so chose to have a coffee instead. I said I would like a still water INSTEAD of a tea which I assumed would be free. We found the staff to be rather inattentive on this occasion which was disappointing as previously the service has been better. Twice my husband had to go to the bar to order me a cocktail - the staff at the bar were rather surprised that hubby went up and took several empty glasses up with him as there seemed to be enough staff on duty. Even customers on the surrounding tables by us were making comments about how hard it was to catch anyone's eye to request food or drinks. To add insult to injury, we were charged over £7 for service which I didn't spot at the time and £3.95 for a (small) bottle of still water. As we paid cash we told the waiter to keep the change from the £70 cash I handed over. Only later at home I spotted a service charge had been included which I obviously would have mentioned at the time "What service?" to get it removed. The afternoon tea experience itself was nice enough although when we asked one of the female staff (when we managed to actually get her attention) to bring over some extra clotted cream, she didn't bother bringing any so we had to ask another waitress about 15 minutes later. It was a very disappointing visit this time. I would add here that it was the female staff members who were not up to par on this visit, the the 2 male staff members we encountered during the visit were better/friendly/polite at least.More

Popped in here for a drink and snack and loved it. The cakes are divine and my friend’s eggs Benedict looked delish. Service was excellent, very friendly waiter. Would definitely go back.
