The food at Franco's continues to be very good. The truffle pasta was sublime and so was their steak Rossini. In fact every one of the dishes we ordered on the night we visited were delightful. I've been to Franco's now four times and I can not fault the quality of their food. The service however on this particular occasion... More

Thank you for you positive feedback on the food we serve at Franco's. We are very fortunate to have a very talented Chef who takes great pride in his menu as do all of his team. We are however saddened to discover that you felt let down by the quality of the service on your last occasion. I would like... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Of course we are disappointed that you could not find a wine by the glass that you liked. Particularly as we offer no less than 31 different wines by the glass, including Champagne, Procecco, Franciacorta, rosé, white, red, fortified and dessert wines. It would be a shame for you not... Visited recently for a very good lunch. Arrived on time and was shown to our table immediately. Great selection of specials and ordered from it, great service and hope to visit again soon.

We had three courses, all dishes reasonable, nothing special, very small and terribly overpriced, the steak tartare was hardly seasoned, my macaroni dish was luke warm, food was very average really. You pay for the service, that's West London for you!

Thank you for taking the time to write of your recent experience at Franco's. Of course we are disappointed you did not like our Steak Tartar which we admit is lightly seasoned, leaving the seasoning to your own taste. We would have gladly heated or replaced the Macaroni dish if you had mentioned this to us at the time. We... More

I was hosting a Friday business lunch for six having been here previously as a guest. The table downstairs was excellent and afforded us space to eat and talk. The set lunch appeared very good value but we all went "a la carte" which was obviously more expensive. All the food was excellent although most of the "specials" had gone... More

Had a very nice meal. Reason for visit was we were staying very close by, and wanted somewhere in walking distance. My wife was unwell and was in London for medical purposes. Head waiter suggested some' specials', which I am sorry I took up the option, chose a fish for two of us, when bill arrived it was £75 just... More

Thank you for taking the time to write of your positive experience at Franco's recently. Of course I'm disappointed that the cost of the daily special fish was not communicated to you. Normally we charge £30 per person when these become available and are offered as a daily special. We will continue to emphasise the importance of communicating the price... More

This was my one and only Italian restaurant of choice when I worked in London, I had not been for many years and had the opportunity recently to return and NOT disappointed. I read many reviews and was concerned but my memories drove me to return. Staff, excellent, really efficient, friendly and present but not interfering. Atmosphere was great, and... More

Smart looking place let down by poor execution. A waiter who thought their news was worthy of interrupting the guests conversation. Repeatedly. And who thought it ok to reach across the guests rather than walk around the table. Repeatedly. And a cloakroom service that decided a ten minute break was ok. And eggs so yellow that they could have been... More

I met up with some former colleagues and we chose Francos as it suited from a transport point of view and I had a good memory of it from my previous visit there. We chose the Open Table offer. Overall, there was nothing wrong with Franco's but, in all honesty, it worked out quite expensive for what was good but... More

Thank you for your feedback. Naturally we are disappointed that you did not enjoy your meal with us recently. Description
Opened in 1946 in Mayfair, Franco's restaurant has been one of London's most popular Italian establishments ever since. It continues to offer local gourmets a tranquil oasis away from the buzz of the city. Set at the St Jamess end of Jermyn Street, Franco's is fantastically located for the galleries, private clubs and hotels of the area. And the pre-theatre and afternoon tea menus are a delight. The restaurants character evolves throughout the day from the early morning breakfasts to laid-back lunches and romantic candlelit dinners in the evening. The elegant 1940s-inspired dcor is bright and modern, with light wood, off-white walls and comfy upholstered dining chairs. Franco's sumptuous Mediterranean menu has been developed by Head Chef Paulo Parlanti and showcases fresh seasonal produce in traditional and modern Italian dishes. Popular dishes include the duck breast with Castelluccio lentils; ossobucco ravioli with veal jus; and the classic tiramisu. Service is flawless and the wine list is a winner too.

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
