Overall experience was bad. Why ? tables cramped for space, no view from our table despite asking for window position. Had to wait nearly one hour for main course despite starter appearing within 5 minutes. Portions very small, but far worse was quality - e.g. carrots ( £6 ) were very very under cooked. Service also very tardy, almost dismissive... More

The food was OK; perhaps not quite as good as I had hoped, given the interesting menu. Service was good and the view was lovely. It would have been nice to have been able to book a window seat, however there was a first come first served policy. Very busy and clearly a popular venue,

We have been going to the OXO for a few years, the location is good and the view is great, the food is always fresh and to a high standard, well done to the head chef and the kitchen team. The service is excellent the staff are very helpful, also the booking staff, the only but I do have I... More

Returned to this fab location and sat in the window to watch sunset whilst having great food, wine and service. Let me recommend you choose 1hour before sunset and also request a window seat...they will say the can't guarantee but when you arrive, insist and wait as it will be worth it. Venison and Steak great. Capt Medley Isle of... More

Visited on march 21st with my mother. I reserved a table at the bar. We had a bottle of wine and 3 starter plates. The wine and food was lovely and the service polite and attentive. Oxo is perfect for getting a great view of London. We didn't eat in the restaurant as read reviews about the food not being... More

If you sit on the balcony it's a fabulous view and nice atmosphere in the evening-- I say evening because if you go during daytime you'll notice you're sitting on astroturf... which is not that classy in my opinion. The food is pretty decent, but you're paying for the view. I recommend requesting an outdoor table on the balcony, otherwise... More

The restaurant is accessed via a reasonably well hidden lift (well its not that obvious unless you have been there before). once at the top, turn right for the restaurant, and left for the Bistro. We visited the Restaurant. The staff were friendly and efficient. service very good, and food excellent, but not quite as good as the wine list... More

Went to the bar for drinks on a Wednesday evening. Elli made our cocktails which were delicious, & we were served by Ioana. Very pleasant atmosphere and a great view of London. I don't like the service charge being added to my bill especially when I've spent £139 on drinks and a cheeseboard. I know everywhere in London does but... More

We went here for a late lunch a few days ago. The food is absolutely brilliant, service first class and views amazing. It has such a lovely atmosphere. I would love to return here when I am next in London. Would highly, highly recommend.

Took my girlfriend here for a special birthday lunch. I have been here several times before and it never fails to impress. The food is something special and the service is professional, friendly and warm. Nothing is too much trouble. We had a very nice table out on the balcony but immediately there was a better table available we were... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
