I assume Monsieur Bosi is aiming for Michelin stars as befit the building and the cooking. Overall it is really good but possibly a fraction short the two star quality he has previously attained, at the moment at least. On top of that, the wine list is very expensive. So, it rates a 'very good' for me and I would... More

this place really needs a touch up. its kind of abandoned and looks neglected in a way i cant really describe. food is alright for a light lunch. the sitting area outside is really nice. we had the fish platters. the shrimps and prawns were ridiculous - who eats 3 bowls of shrimps/prawns with the shells.

When your mate turns 40 and you only have a couple of days with her in London what do you do? Well you start it well by having a cheeky bottle of Chablis and some lush seafood that's how! Great service, great vibe - great way to start our day!

Treated to a superb lunch by Master Loafer upstairs at Bibendum now under the auspices of Claude Bosi. I have eaten at Msr. Bosi's previous establishment Hibiscus. In my opinion any comparison is not a straightforward affair it would be like comparing apples and avocados. I like the venue/room. As a lover of older London neighbourhoods, views of uninterrupted sky,... More

Very nice place to have a quick lunch. Food is good and service good. In particular Dorset Crab. Can be a bit cold as restaurant downstairs is near to big door leading to Fulham Road.

We had been lucky enough to have been loyal customers of Bibendum since it first opened. Our family has celebrated so many birthdays and special days we thought we must have bought the place several times over. We used to be greeted as old friends by all the lovely staff. Sadly, some of the staff left the building permanently and... More

Beautiful restaurant and amazing food. We had the tasting menu with matching wines. Some interesting taste combinations which you wouldn't think would work but they did. Service was excellent but a few pointless staff too. Mr Bosi also made an appearance at the end of lunch service too. Will definitely return for dinner.

We had dinner in the upstairs restaurant, which has just reopened after a refurbishment. There were four of us dining and we all agreed it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The flavours were extraordinary, complex but not too rich. The service was very attentive and we had a wonderful evening. Highlights were the olive amuse... More

Firstly, the decor and staff were amazing as was the quality of the food, however, in my opinion the prices are ridiculous. £60 for essentially a pair of chicken breast must be viewed as excessive in most people's view. There are no concessions for younger diners even though we had to stipulate children were attending during booking. Hence the chicken... More

Description
Bibendum, the flagship of the Conran gastro empire is housed in the historic Michelin building on groovy Brompton Cross. As you might expect, it delivers topnotch French food with impeccable service in a spacious chic setting. In fact, the food is so delicious that one is in danger of leaving the premises feeling like the Michelin man himself. Fabulous wine list to complement the menu and an ideal location to indulge in a little post lunch shopping on the cross or down Walton Street. With a set menu for lunch at £36 you can enjoy a 'grande bouffe' without a grand bill.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
