Recently visited Bistrotheque with friends from work. I had heard about the restaurant previously and have never had an opportunity to visit before now. It is quite a journey away from The City but once we arrived it was all worth it. The restaurant is quite unassuming from the outside but I was pleasantly surprised from the moment we arrived.... You might doubt there is actually a restaurant down this side street . . . but keep the faith! Food was very good, service was nice, ambiance for dinner was candle-lit warehouse, quite charming. I enjoyed the scallops appetizer, the short rib, and the panna cotta with blood oranges. Every dish I tried, including dessert, heavily featured nuts--a consideration if... More

Hidden down a side street and upstairs in a converted warehouse you will find a bright open plan space filled with hip East Londoner types. Like me, you may cringe at the thought but don't let the idea of hipsters instagramming their food put you off! It's well worth a visit. We arrived late Sunday morning and were surprised to... More

Great atmosphere, hidden gem of Victoria Park area, good choice of niche spirits in the bar. the dinner itself was very tasty and well presented - if you order before 7pm you can go for prix fix ( 3 courses of your choice ) which gives you huge saving, great service and professional and helpful staff

Good service and nice staff in a quirky location with a good ambience. The food was mixed, I had excellent goat's cheese and artichoke starter but rather tasteless and chewy smoked short rib with red cabbage, it was warm when it came to the table, not hot. Some of our party had chicken which was delicious and hot in temperature.... More

Thanks for taking the time to give us some feedback. I can't help feeling, reading your review, that if the short rib had been on point, not chewy, hot not warm, you'd have probably felt the meal was better value. We're not the cheapest restaurant around but we do want you to leave feeling that the meal you had was... More

Had a lovely visit here today for Christmas dinner. The staff where all very friendly and attentive and seemed happy to be there considering it was christmas day. The restaurant has nice decor and a relaxed vibe although it would have been nice to have some music in the background to create some ambience. Also, the tables are very close... More

Thanks for taking the time to post a review and give constructive feedback, we're glad to hear you enjoyed Christmas lunch overall. Regarding service charge, it does indeed go to the team. It is optional so if you wish to have it removed and to pay a leave a different amount for them, then that is entirely possible. Christmas Day... More

We ate here as a couple in early December. What is good: the lovely big bar, the open space, the vaguely Parisian bistro style of the room, the buzzy atmosphere. What is better than good: the service, which was really very good and attentive, with interested staff who could all clearly be bothered. What was average was the food, I... More

Thanks very much for taking the time to post a review and give feedback, we do really appreciate hearing people's thoughts, good or bad. Of course, I'm glad you enjoyed the space and the buzz but I am disappointed to read your review of the food, as we know from other feedback the kitchen is capable of more than average.... More

We visited Bistrotheque in November 2016. We tried to reserve a table very late, but were able to eat at the bar. The food was fantastic, and the cocktails are original and divine. Wonderful atmosphere. Would totally visit again.

Really interesting venue - you definitely know you're in East London! Warehouse that has been converted to a restaurant - table not too close together and places to hang your coats along the wall. The food was ok, nothing particularly amazing, but the service was really fantastic, which honestly so many places get wrong. Our waiter was unobtrusive, friendly and... More

We went to this restaurant although it was far from us but it was worth to spend the money on the taxi. Because we were there before 19.00 they have the possibility to choose a 3 course menu from the card for just 23 pound. The quality of the food for 3 of us was very good and the servant... More
