Who wants trash like McDonald's when for a similar price you can get a sweet and chewy freshly baked bagel stuffed with salmon & cheese or a hulking great hunk of salt Beef with pickles and mustard! Other fillings are available but that's what we had and both were very good. We got a load of bagels to take home... More

Heard a lot about both bagel shops in Brick Lane, finally decided to see what the products were like. For me, the best bagel is one nice enough to eat straight from the bag! (That is, nothing on it, in fact not even cut open). So that was my aim, to buy plain bagels from each shop and eat some... More

I don't like bagels, or so I thought until my daughter took me here. do not think about anything you have ever tried from a supermarket. these were so tasty and fresh. The salt beef was the nicest I have ever tasted. Now I know why at midnight the line was down the street. Will be back.

THe title really says it all. Great food for a 'delicate' morning. No idea if it is better that the other bagel shop but it really was tasty. Was also nice to see people coming in and buy the bread products to take home

I went here with a friend, saying that Beigel Bake has the absolutely best Beigels in London, however it turned out that they were pretty dry, which I heard they are not normally. In defense I have to say that the cream cheese and salmon inside was absolutely excellent, so I hope the dryness was simply bad luck! Friendly staff... More

I love my bagels and after reading the reviews on here I had to try Beigel Bakery myself. All I'll say is they lived up to expectations. The queue was long but it goes down pretty quick, besides it was a Saturday. It's worth the trip to Brick Lane alone. I bought half a dozen but next trip I'm going... More

People talk about this place a lot and it does live up to the hype. There is a real community feel about it, lots of people buying their stash for dinner or the following day. I was the only person taking a photo of my salt beef beigel. It was generous with salt beef, mustard and and extra 30p for... More

I loved the outgoing staff, the friendly customers and the delish food but my Junior-school children were not very impressed. My fault, I have to get them out more! VERY well priced and the ladies behind the counter were very friendly and efficient, just as a deli should be. We were lucky to be there before the rush. I had... More

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
