We spent an extremely pleasant Spanish style lunch at Cigala. The food was really good and the service excellent - attentive but not pushy and the food was served at a manageable pace. Thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to going again.

Went here yesterday evening with a couple of friends. Received by a less than warm waitress. Waited some time before my friend asking the male waiter...possibly, even the manager, if we could order a couple of things whilst waiting for another friend, to a rather rude brush off to serve another customer. Fine, if he was on his way to... More

My partner and I decided to go to Cigala for an early valentines meal. We booked for 4pm but on arrival it was obvious the restaurant wasn't busy with only two tables being occupied. We ordered 4 tapas dishes and the chicken paella. The food was really nice and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We also ordered a bottle of Rioja,... More

The tapas dishes were lovely but at £35.40 for 2 people the Paella with Chicken is way way overpriced for what you get: 4 modest pieces of chicken ~6 small pieces of chorizo 3 wedges of lemon rice Left feeling disappointed - all because of the main course.

We visited Cigala for a private function, so we sampled a variety of tapas or starters and their paella, rather than picked and chose from their menu. In short, their food is fresh, tasty, delightful, so good. Their pan com tomate - the simplest of dishes, (toasted bread with tomatoes and seasoning) - is a good example of the simple... More

We have been coming here from time to time over a number of years but the last visit was a disappointment. We ordered both types of paella assuming that, because they specify a 30 minute wait, it would be freshly prepared. In fact it was tired as if it had hung around and the mussels were dry and over cooked.... More

Popped in for dinner before the theatre and thoroughly enjoyed it. The paella was delicious, the wine good and the service friendly.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
