Subject: Lunch today. Disappointing Our waiter Mohammad was very welcoming, but the meal was very disappointing. The bread was not baked fresh on the premises as the better Lebanese restaurants usually serve. Very poor even when warmed. The homos Beiruti was excellent, very smooth almost silky. But the tabbouleh was a disaster. The parsley was chopped extremely coarsely with hardly... More

First time at this restaurant and definitely won't be the last. Met a friend there for dinner. Food and service both perfect. Best Lebanese food ever. And so much of it we couldn't eat it all! All beautifully presented. We had the set meal for two hot and cold mezze and then main course of meat/ chicken kebabs with salad... More

Browsing through Marylebone neighbourhood is a bit overwhelming as there are many choices and hard to make a choice. This place is a safe bet in terms of good food and good value per money. The menu is quite extensive and good for vegetarians. The thing I liked the most is the way the flavours were standing out. Definitely go... More

I tried quite a few Lebanese restaurants in London and I think that so far Fairuz beats them all. The food was delicious and the location really cosy. I only found the meze too expensive for what you get.

To be completely honest I was starving when we got here for lunch but even so I dont think the ravenous hunger colors my opinion of the food here. Stopped in for lunch with a fair number of vegetarians for lunch and we were not disappointed. Quiet location off the main street. Cosy joint with a moorish look. Food was... More

We had a lovely dinner here. Wonderful meal- we chose the set mezze. It was an enormous amount of food and everything was delicious. Especially lamb sausage and baba ghanouj. Highly recommend!

This was one of our favourite restaurants many years ago. Unfortunately the service was lacking. We were waiting ages for someone to take our drinks order and had to call someone over. Same for the food order. They used to provide you with a basket of vegetables whilst you waited. Those no longer surfaced although I saw one of the... More

A friend introduced us to this place in a lovely quiet neighborhood north of the horribly busy Oxford Street and St. Christopher's Place. The food was absolutely delightful.

At Fairuz was my first time at a Lebanese restaurant. The food had a very good taste and the meat was amazing. People there are kind and the location was very typical.

Large portions, good middle eastern food, quite tight seating and the only down side are the toilets! They seem to have stopped their wonderful flat bread which is a shame but the baklava is excellent.

FFairuz restaurant in Londons Marylebone is named in tribute to Lebanon's most famous chanteuse and cultural icon - a sweet, unguarded idea that, if copied, could lead to Bob Dylan the chippie or Cliff Richard the burger bar. Fairuz the restaurant is one of London's more relaxed and intimate Lebanese restaurants, with comfortable, rustic dcor and a warm welcome. Fairuz still observes all the traditions: formal service, the instant appearance of olives and chilled salad upon arrival. But the dcor, cooking, and staff are all pleasantly flamboyant and at Fairuz there's a general bonhomie among the staff and clientele. The Lebanese cuisine bursts with Eastern Mediterranean flavours - old favourites like tabouleh, foul moukaaka, and moutabaal do new dance steps on your tongue. The raw meat starters are unmissable. Good vegetarian selection, of course, and there is complimentary fruit and baklava with coffee.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
