I am vegetarian and always love going to veggie restaurants, knowing I can eat everything on the menu! The choice wasn't vast but I guess this helps them keep their costs down. This still did include a good mixture of dishes and flavours, and I...More

My daughter is a vegetarian (I'm not) and we stumble on this restaurant on a mini break. I can honestly say I would turn vegetarian if someone cooked this for me everyday. I thought it was fantastic food and would recommend to everyone.

Finally we found a vegan restaurant in the centre of London. There was a whole vegan menu and even vegan desserts. We had the veggie thali. It was good, the presentation wasn't that special, very basic, the salad wasn't even in a bowl but straight...More

Good for a quick, pure vegetarian meal of Indian style - good choice of curries and soup or pulses with a nice papadum

ISKCON restaurant offers neither great service nor awesome food. What they offer is sumptuous portions of food for a reasonable price and all of them is vegetarian. So if you are in central London, needing vegetarian Indian food - and very hungry and not mind...More

I can't believe this place claims to serve thali. There were so few options for the thali they recommend for vegans. The potato and spinach curry was a fluorescent green! I'm very experienced in vegan Indian cooking and I know that there was so way...More

The food here is reliably wonderful. Last time I went, I had a thali and afterwards a lovely mango cheesecake. However, I agree with other reviewers that some of the staff seem to have forgotten that they are there to serve the customers. I asked...More

I went to Govinda's at lunchtime with a friend as I heard there was a lot of variety for vegetarians and vegans. There was certainly a lot of options, but the food I chose ended up being very bland and tasteless, not to mention lukewarm...More

Wholesome Natural Vegetarian Food. (Prasadam) Our aim is to provide fresh, nutritious meals at affordable prices. We serve a wide variety of pure vegetarian cuisine, which is freshly cooked on the premises throughout the day. All of our products are meat, fish and egg free with many dishes suitable for vegans too. We do not use onions, garlic or mushrooms. Try the thali (it literally means plate) which consists of 2 sabjis (vegetable dishes), rice, bread, and a side salad. More conventional dishes include pizza, lasagna, veggie burgers, egg-free quiche or one of our delicious spinach rolls, all of which can be served with salad. There are over ten different types of fresh salads available daily where you can try creations like mango, celery and walnut salad caprese, or fried and marinated courgette and eggplant. Stapes include simple salads like beetroot, potato and fresh mixed greens. If available. While you are here, try the tahini dressing, it's delicious! We have a selection of English treats such as home-made ice cream, cheesecakes and gateaux or try traditional Indian items such as sweet rice, laddhu (gram flour sweets) and barfis (condensed milk balls). Karma Free Diet Our restaurant also has an additional unique feature: all our preparations are first offered to Lord Krishna before being served and are thus called prasadam which means the Mercy of God. Dine in Govinda's for a truly blessed and karma-free experience! Take a piece of mercy with you All of our menu items are available as take-away, so even if you are in a rush or have just popped out from the office to grab a bite, you can experience the mercy of Lord Krishna! Party Time? If you are having a celebration and want to treat your guests to the Govinda's experience we can cater for any size of function. Celebrate someone special with a sumptuous egg-free cake. We have various sizes for any occasion. Contact us and we can make happen. Why not try Govinda's recipes at home? We have a large selection of vegetarian and vegan cookbooks to help you delight your friends and family with healthy, karma-free cooking. Pop in when you are next in the area or after visiting the temple next door. We look forward to serving you soon.
