15 minutes before any order taken, and another 15 before drinks appeared. 65 minutes wait for the starter. A waiter with absolutely no idea of how to organise himself, other diners who arrived later, served by other waiters were tucking into main courses before our...More

I have eaten at this restaurant at least twice every year since 2003 until 2014. First time back and immediately you could tell there had been an ownership change. Service and food have seriously declined. I will never return. A once fabulous French Restaurant in...More

Fantastic, elegant restaurant in the heart of Soho. Make sure to try their snails as their name suggests. Always impeccable service and surprisingly good prices for Soho.

This place does great French food. The restaurant was frankly a bit dead, in that no one was there, despite the fact that Soho was humming - clearly others had cottoned on to the terrible atmosphere We had some pleasant Edith Piaff type jazz playing...More

My wife and I enjoyed a meal here last night (Saturday), following the matinee performance of Evita! just around the corner in the Phoenix Theatre. Given we arrived early (6:30pm), we were able to enjoy the pre-theatre menu, 3 course for £23! Fantastic value! The...More

If you're relying on Government websites for restaurant suggestions, then you're doing it wrong. Stay at home with a tin of baked beans.

L'Escargot is the oldest French restaurant in London. However, as a Soho legend, it is very much up to date. Relaxed atmosphere, good food and wine, all reasonably priced. There is no dress code (nudity discouraged !). L'Escargot has been host to stars of stage and screen for many years. Previous clients include, Coco Chanel, John Giulgud, Mick Jagger, Elton John, Ralph Richardson, Judy Dench, and the late Princess Diana. Pre-theatre and post theatre dining is popular and theatre and dinner packages are available. You may just pop in for one course and a cocktail or glass of wine - we look forward to welcoming you.
