Bit too crowded. Cold. Good service but felt fake at times Food average, given the cost it should have been superb. The gentleman next to us (very close to us as the tables are far too close together), asked the waitress to take off the service charge from the bill. He felt the food was poor and the service had... A bit precious for me. £50 3 courser is what is offered on Saturday night. 7 or 8 complicated starters & mains.None of the ingredients seem to be used in any other dishes so Chef clearly likes fiddling about. Service is exemplary. Management quite charming & not over bearing. Wait staff efficient & polite. Nice decor. Rich local understated quiet... More

We were house hunting today in Chiswick and decided to try La Trompette for lunch. Great decision. I think it's got a Michelin star. Well deserved. The Saturday set lunch was £24 for 2 courses. The choice was varied, the food was to die for, service excellent. This is one of Londons very best restaurants. It just happens to be... More

You don't get a Star without a good reason and they thoroughly deserve theirs. The staff can be very proud of their service and food.

I had been looking forward to dining at La Trompette and made quite an effort to get there so it was rather disappointing to be seated outside the toilets, even though we were there for the first sitting. They were clearly focused on throughput that evening and we were asked twice if we were ready to order. With the prospect... More

Can't quite believe that I just ate such outrageously delicious, exciting food and forked out just 30 quid. Huge effort clearly goes into the conception of each dish and there was nothing lazy on the menu. Without it appearing to be 'trying too hard', the food works. Suitably for winter, flavours today were earthy, warm and comforting - superbly represented... More

Difficult, although not impossible, to criticise the food or the set-lunch value (£29.50 rest of year, £35.00 December) which offers a wide choice compared to some other 'set' menus. All the ingredients are there for a great restaurant, but something doesn't quite click - try as you might you are not really having the time of your life. Why? Difficult... More

La Trompette opened in 2001 and serves some of the best food in London but without the formality or prices associated with the capital’s top end establishments. We closed at the beginning of 2013 for a complete refurbishment, and have expanded to include a brand new kitchen, private dining and improved customer facilities. The new appearance has not changed the focus of the restaurant. The aim is as it always has been, to give all our guests the best possible dining experience from start to finish.
