We were looking for a place to have a drink whilst waiting for a fourth member of the party to join us. We found a cosy little wine bar just off Carnaby Street that was perfect. Although it was pretty full the manager asked if we'd mind waiting as he knew some of his regulars were about to move on.... More

Antidote is truly one of my favourite places in town: great food, even better wines. I often stop by and buy a bottle of wine here on my way from work: never disappointed. Until now... So... I walk in yesterday to buy a bottle for my husband and me and immediately get help from the bartender. He is lovely but... More

Lovely atmosphere, you can sit at the bar or tables. Service friendly. We enjoyed the food, and it was good quality, it is just a little expensive and I think £4 for bread is outrageous. Just off Carnaby street.

Antidote offers two dining options: On the ground floor, a casual wine bar serving excellent wines and charcuterie, sharing platters, pates and small plates of beautifully presented simple food. And upstairs, a restaurant offering a more up-market venue, with tables that are nicely spaced, and unlike many restaurants in the area, it offers a calm place to eat. The menu... More

Had a fantastic meal with lovely service in this restaurant. It has changed a lot since the last time we visited (my daughter and I chanced upon it one lunchtime after visiting Liberty's and I had always meant to go back. Anyway lovely for a relaxed, very French lunch and am sure it is just as superb in the evening.... More

After wandering around London all day, accompanying my husband on business, it reached the point where we had completed work and wanted somewhere to just sit a while and gather thoughts. Well. What a find. Given seats at the bar in the window and handed the most comprehensive wine list I've ever seen! Ordered a large glass each and just... More

The only thing that tasted remotely nice was the bread, which we were later told was bought from an external bakery anyway. My boyfriend and I, after a lot of research, picked this venue and found the sharing plates to be most unpleasant and unfortunately the meal just got worse. The wine suggested by the waitress was simply undrinkable and... More

My husband and I flew into london from the Middle East yesterday. After an incredibly long day trundling around the shops for last minute Christmas presents, I dragged my husband another mile through the streets to find Antidote, a place I'd frequented a few times over the years. We sat at the counter, as it was busy, selected a nice... More

I would love to give it a better review but we weren't given the chance to eat there. We sat outside to begin with and enjoyed exceptional service from the charming and knowledgeable French wait staff (as you would expect!). We wanted to move inside to eat when a table became available (it was a cold December night), asked our... More

After looking at the website and the menu we were looking forward to a very special meal. On arrival the restaurant looked like it was going to look up to our expectations! Sadly the best part of the meal was the bread. The wine was poor and the starter and main lacked any real flavour.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
