As a lover of great food Le Gavroche has always been my Mecca. So after months of waiting I managed to get a booking close to my birthday. Wow what can I say. The place really does live up to its reputation. The service and the food were out of this world. I could go into detail about every course... More

Went today for usual twice yearly lunch. Food excellent as usual, but when checking in staff disorganised running around like headless chickens. Also when left asked for my shopping bag that I had checked in. Was offered three others before mine, could have taken a much nicer one which is worrying.

We have been going to Le Gavroche for several years and we have allways been served brilliant food by brilliant and allways in our opinion happy staff. It only takes one Bad Apple to try to rot the box. Hopefully the bad apple has gone and the regular guests of Le Gavroche many others who try to book a table... More

Writing and waiting! Looking forward to enjoying a meal at this renowned michelin star restaurant in March. We reside next door when in Lonon. yet, we have not graced its doors.

Unparalleled Service, fantastic food paired with some great wines. All in all, a wonderful experience shared with my wife and some friends. Admittedly, not great to hear Le Gavroche in the news for negative reasons recently but I am basing this review on my experience of the restaurant. I would recommend.

My wife and I went to Le Gavroche on Friday evening as part of her birthday weekend. We had the tasting menu with matching wine, it was very, very good and did not disappoint, the cheese soufflé was unbelievably tasty. After the soufflé came the next dish which, once revealed by the waiters was surprisingly small and I was a... More

Cannot believe some of these reviews were of the same venue we ate at. Service was, at all times excellent. Food was absolute perfection and served with superb wine, by a very knowledgeable and charming sommelier. We arrived very early and actually enjoyed chilling and enjoying the atmosphere. The only reservation I have is that the excellent staff do deserve... More

My wife had always wanted to sample the atmosphere and food here so we went for a major birthday treat. Not being too aware of the place I tried to book for the night of her birthday but was advised its around 3 months advance booking. I booked and we received a call the day before just to see if... We visited Le Gavroche for dinner, having heard good things. Securing a table initially proved challenging with no availability showing, however the excellent hotel Concierge managed to secure one. Firstly, for the venue – on entering at street level you proceed down to a sub-level. Personally I found the décor a bit drab making the rather small restaurant feel even... More

This was a wonderful experience, from the greeting, the dècor, the food and the service. It was all I hoped for. I came alone and I was treated so well. I ordered from the á la carte menu, which is worth doing as automatically you are presented with beautiful àmuse de bouche and a choice of breads. I ordered monkfish... More

Description
The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin stars, Le Gavroche remains a class apart. Since opening in 1967, this Mayfair bastion of French cuisine has been very much a family affair, and chef-patron Michel Roux Jr continues the tradition today. The elegance of the menu and the ambience is impeccably tailored, while the discreet service has won its own plaudits.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
