I have been meaning to visit this restaurant for some time, and finally got round to it. It was surprisingly easy to book a table for two, for lunch with a business contact. The restaurant was a good mix of business and non business lunchers, so it did not feel overly stuffy or formal. Staff were efficient and courteous- as... More

The décor was lovely and the food really superb but the service was appalling. It's very hard to get a booking but I can't see why if our experience is typical.

This was truly a treat. Beautiful decor, lots of attentive and skilled staff and a sublime dinner experience. Each dish was prepared to perfection -had the Linguine with lobster as the main course - and thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Also the selection of wine and Cognac was great.

We tried this restaurant after reading good reviews. Our mistake. The service was excellent but each dish was disappointing in terms of flavour. (Presentation was fine but nothing special for a restaurant in this price range.) If you're looking for a place to have a lunch with business colleagues and spending on your company's account, this is fine. Otherwise, go... More

What a beautiful restaurant and a truly delicious experience . I would have given it 5 out of 5 if it had been better than Terry Laybournes Cafe Vivvo in Newcastle, but it was no better, it was however approximately £100 more expensive for a meal of a similar standard. That's what a Michelin star allows Mr Locatelli and his TV... More

Comfortable seating. Not too noisy like most London restaurants. Menu offer was sufficiently tantalising to make deciding difficult. Pumpkin soup was not special, but venison was. My companion said the pasta dish was good, but thought it was a bit dry and could have used a sauce. Service was sufficiently slow that I lost a bit of my appetite while... More

The food was average at best. The service was terrible. The head waiter was not only arrogant but downright rude. Staff reached across all guests rather than following proper service. Some staff smelt of BO as well. We waited at least 30 mins for our dessert orders and another 20 for our bill. We didn't get so much as a... More

The pasta here was some of the best we've tried - the pork ravioli was al dente with an amazing ragu. As you would expect from a high-end Italian, the bread, olive oil and red wine were all superb. When it got to the mains we were a little underwhelmed & both dishes really weren't mindblowing for the price of... More

They seem to have forgotten that eating out should be enjoyable. An accusation one might level at any number of fine dining restaurants, but for some reason (the tv, no doubt) I hadn't expected it here. The food was really very good. Indeed brilliant, in places: hare ragu with cocoa was one punt that came off. But my waiter being... More

Party of six on a saturday night. We were not rushed by the staff and left to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Great wine list, helpful sommelier. The signature dishes are still there, as was the availability of white truffles on this occasion. Had the scallops, which were divine.Tried the ravioli with pheasant and rosemary jus. Not as inspring as i would... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
