I went here for a large birthday party. The staff managed the event really well - the canapés were tasty (chorizo, nuts and padron peppers) and the wines delicious. Service was good with generous portions of interesting food. It's a cool and trendy restaurant in a stylish part of Islington with a minimalist interior style. However, because of this minimalist... Moro is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is simply delicious. If you haven't been, go. Don't skimp. Indulge. And enjoy.

Went on Saturday lunchtime as a special treat with my son and his fiancé. Wanted to go for years. Everyone else seemed to be having the best time in the world so maybe it's just me but honestly it was good but not great. Service was excellent though. All the food was fine , no complaints but just not "wow"... More

This restaurant has a great Mediterranean vibe and terrific service. My wife and I went there with another couple, and we all enjoyed both starters and mains. The food was delicious and the flavours well balanced. One minor issue was that everything on the plate had the same texture; a little contrast would have improved the dish.

I brought a friend out for dinner on Friday and the restaurant I was intending to patronise was closed so we found this place by chance. It was very busy and we were lucky to get a table but has to be out by 8.15 which was fine as we arrived at 6.15. The décor s modern (and so noisy)... More

Food really overpriced. Meet and fish were not uncooked. Careless service, careless food presentation - looked like school food. Very noisy place. Tables are very close to each other.

We went for a Sunday lunch and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere as much as the delicious food. Busy but not too crowded, and tables a comfortable space apart. Exceptional menu including many original dishes (chef was at River Island, so no wonder ...), discreetly efficient and welcoming service. Pricey (watch out for the 12.5% add on)

This place is widely recommended, and it deserves it. Make sure to reserve if you decide to go. We enjoyed it a lot. If your palate is very conservative, don't bother. We loved everything we were served. Poor young fellow seated next to us ordered the artichoke appetizer and then didn't have any idea how to eat it. He consumed... More

wandering around Exmouth Market we chose Moro without even looking at the menu. it was buzzing and had a great atmosphere, so we went in. fortunately they had a table free. the menu isn't the cheapest and the selection of food is limited but don't let that put you off. better to have less options and great fresh food than... Buzzy atmosphere. Friendly and attentive service. Not fine dining but wonderful simple food made from the finest ingredients. A simple tomato salad was elevated to a new level. Could not fault the food. Five of us dining and everybody really enjoying themselves. Excellent and good value wine list. I don't usually eat puddings but the choc and apricot tart was... More

It might be one of the hippest venues in one of the hippest parts of the capital but this Clerkenwell restaurant still manages to be relaxed and more concerned with good food than being trendy. The restaurant’s décor with its polished wooden floors, long zinc bar and open view to the kitchen and its charcoal grill and wood-burning oven is functional but welcoming. The Moorish cuisine complete with subtle European influence is every bit as striking as it was when the restaurant opened its doors nearly ten years ago. Tapas served all day at the bar. Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
