Vineet Bhatia has recently opened in a lovely townhouse just off the King's Road. The decor is tastefully "clubby", the food is inventive and well-prepared with wonderful Indian spices- a contemporary take on Indian classics, and the staff is friendly, very knowledgeable and discreet. Ala carte dishes are not offered, only a multi-course tasting menu and a vegetarian option. There... More

I was in London for one day and went to VBL on the recommendation of Google. And it was the most amazing Indian menu I have eaten... the care and thinking that went into each course was exemplary; of note were the most perfect morsel of idli-sambar, tandoori salmon, fluffy dhoklas and a chocolate samosa. Need to go back some... More

We had a table booked for 7:30pm on a Saturday night. Communication from the restaurant in the lead up the night was very good, confirming date/time and the food they would be serving that evening. Restaurant itself is fairly formal, although dress code is relaxed. Service levels are high! Knowledge of the food, the discipline of the service and the... More

One year ago, Rasoi was my favourite Indian restaurant in London. Now, it has metamorphosed into a refurbished temple to Indian taste. Five of us visited it in January just after the reopening for a business meal. But, Does it work? Is it any better? Do not come to the newly branded Veneet at Rasoi looking for a hearty plate... Thanks to a very good friend who reserved this restaurant in London I discovered a completely new level of Indian Cuisine. Forget about chicken tikka masala, follow the well design set menu and enjoy a journey into a new Indian dimension. I just love it!

myself , my wife and 2 other friends went for an evening and wasn't disappointed. The food , staff , service etc was second to none. we had 2 very misfortunate accidents with drink spillages on 2 separate tables but the staff acted like true professionals and reacted to the problem and put them right with no fuss what so... I was looking very forward to the culinary experience at this restaurant which was recommended by friends. Wrong. I was so wrong. I booked through "Open Table" app and received a confirmation with no further details. When my friend and I arrived at the restaurant we realized that it was a set menu (105£ each! No drinks included). No one... More

Dear Ms. Sabrina, At the outset I do apologize as the Open Table listing of our restaurant , the email confirmation sent by Open Table clearly highlighting to contact the restaurant for the confirmation, our website , as well as our two failed attempts to establish telephonic contact with yourself prior to your reservation date was not enough to convey... Wow. This really was spectacularly good. The attention to detail in every course, the flavours and the tastes. I could not fault it in any respect. Just a complete delight. Save this one up for 'special occasion'. Expensive, but more than worth it.

I was taken here by a friend who's a veteran customer and was transfixed. Exceptional seven-course menu served with stunning delicacy and inspired touches of fusion. Newly-refurbished restaurant is not as cosy, apparently, as it was before but a calm and peaceful room with utterly charming but unobtrusive staff still make it hugely relaxing. Fabulous wine list too.

I have been here many times, it is unparalleled. Everything: the food, drink, care, presentation, staff, expertise, decor.. a true experience. They have recently refurbished and remodelled themselves as an 'experience' restaurant with no à la carte menu. Do not let this put you off, this experience is worth having (as many times as you can), and you are more... More

Rasoi means 'kitchen' and, in this case, also means fabulous, award-winning, bravura cooking. Vineet Bhatia is the chef who won Zaika the first Michelin star ever for an Indian restaurant, now he has opened this intimate, upmarket, charming townhouse restaurant in Chelsea. Rooms are smart modern with splashes of colourful Indian saris and artwork. The 'evolved Indian' menu may include dishes like starter of assorted sea scallops which are spice-crusted, chilli, sesame and onion seed, main course of grilled spice marinated duck escalopes with hot tamarind chutney, sauteed garlic shiitake mushrooms and onion fritters, and pudding of poached pear, ginger, and yoghurt cheesecake with blueberries and fennel sorbet. Superb wines

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
