I visited the restaurant today with a client. At the back of my mind was the fact that this is renowned as a city institution. My preconception - No pretence, just great quality produce. Well that’s certainly what you would assume when you walk in....More

We visited Sweetings for the first time without knowing what to expect. It felt like going back in time right there in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the City. We had the lobster bisque and scallops to start, shared the Dover sole...More

Going back in 'time' - interesting to observe! Sea food was very nice but - because everyone arrives more or less at the same time the beautiful fresh fish may not be cooked to perfection. Also, don't even think about the excuse for chips -...More

I went to Sweetings with mates as part of a Christmas shindig. I enjoyed it very much. It is a seafood restaurant, and has an old fashioned look and feel to it, as befits an establishment that has been on site since 1889. There is...More

Sweetings don't take reservations they open 11.30-3pm Monday to Friday so it's best to get there fairly early to ensure a table.
