i have been coming here for years and have their katsudon almost every time, but this time the quality was just really bad - pork didn't taste fresh at all and was really really tough, rice didn't taste fresh either. really disappointed!

Food is average, ordered a chicken katsu curry good portion but the rice was slightly soggy...slightly overpriced, but good service and opening time till 12 am.

Good japanese restaurant. Dined there a couple of times with friends. Service is average, but the restaurant is easy to find. Perhaps not my favourite in Soho, but it is still a place I would go back to.

Dined here for lunch today and were greeted by a friendly staff who immediately offered us complimentary rice crackers and green tea. Our meals did not take long to arrive. I ordered oyako donburi and my friend had the salmon donburi. Both tasted good and went well with the green tea. I will definitely be returning here again.

Every year we come to London we plan to have at least one dinner there. From the first time in 2013, we loved the feeling of this cozy restaurant where they carry you, even before the menu, a hot cup of tea and a gentle smile even when the venue is jam packed! The menu offers not only the usual... More

We have been dining at the Tokyo Diner almost since it opened. Every time we are in London, we plan to have at least one dinner at the Tokyo Diner. However, we were very disappointed on our recent visit in November (2016). We arrived at the Diner after seeing a show nearby and were first surprised to find that the... More

Visit Tokyo diner with the hubster today! And it was amazing! Real Japanese food! Quick service and menu is very easy to read! They give you free bigger portion of rice if asked but politely ask you not to waste food! No tuna served- due to the ethics behind over fishing of tuna!.... and they don't expect any tip! Lovely... I've been going there for 10 years and the quality has been consistent. It's a good value for the money. You might have to wait a while but service is fast.

This is what the menu says: Udon or Soba served with our vegetable curry. Made with no fish or meat but may contain small traces of animal fat The waitress seemed confused by the concept of no chicken in my order, and what I got was noodles in a curry sauce soup with hunks of yellow potatoes. No other vegetables.... More

Because you'll have to wait for sure. It's on the beaten track so what else would you expect? But their fair food is worth the wait and when I say fair I don't mean only the taste , check out their prices - it's relatively low - and their tuna policy - I've never seen something like this before, so... Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
