We selected this restaurant because was close by the hotel and had good reviews. It was a success. The menu offered a combination of traditional local dishes and international cuisine. Every one ordered something different from chicken to steak and the roast. We really enjoy the quality and presentation of the food. We got a good Rioja wine at a... More

Grumbles is one of those places one always seem to return to. The menu is excellent not too large nor too small and their set lunches are very good value I especially like their Sticky date pudding so usually skip on a starter to leave space. their wine menu is also covers a wide spectrum. The restaurant seems to have... More

Food of calamari and vegetarian dish of spinach tart was delicious. Grumbles was very easy walk - 5 mins from Victoria Station.

I popped in here yesterday with my mum, uncle and cousin. They have eaten here before and love it but it was my first time. I ordered the chicken breast in sauce with cheese and asparagus, my mum and uncle the roast chicken with chips and my cousin the catfish. They all had starters of smoked mackerel and mozzarella and... More

Great Lamb shank and nice atmosphere. The lamb was the dish of the day together with mashed potato I had also a nice glass of red wine (Bordeaux ). It was a pleasant dinner even if I was there by myself.

We found this place as we were leaving the Tate Britain ... it is about a mile away tucked into a lovely neighborhood setting. Very authentic place.. a mix of French, English and Indian food, all very natural and fresh. The restaurant is tiny so reservations would be best. Very good wine list, very friendly staff but the food is... More

Located about a 20 minute walk from Victoria Station, Grumbles is located in a residential neighborhood and has the feel of a friendly local gathering place. The service was efficient, courteous, and unrushed. The food was interesting and well prepared. The prices were very reasonable, especially for London. For us Grumbles was a relaxing end to a busy day.

Went for a meal with old friends. Place was busy (but it was the weekend) but service was efficient and not at all intrusive. Food was well cooked (fish a little overdone if I was being picky,) but real disappointment was the deserts as hot puddings had clearly been reheated in a microwave. Not what you would expect at the... More

My wife and I had lunch in this pleasant restaurant not far from Victoria station and also not far from the Tate Britain. The service was very friendly and it was a nice relaxed place. It is reasonably priced given the location and the food was OK but probably the weakest aspect. If it had been as good as the... More

This was about the fourth time I've been to Grumbles. This time it was for a business meeting on a Friday evening, starting at 7.30 p.m. The prices were higher than on my previous visits because we couldn't use the set-price menu. But the food was excellent and the service (although rather slow) was fine. The restaurant is tiny and... More

Staying in Pimlico

Neighbourhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
