If you cannot get a reservation at the Paul Hamlyn Balconies restaurant, you should not be tempted here as it is a very poor alternative. The design, effectively a mirror lined dance studio, is very unpleasant and the harsh lighting makes it worse. The staff confused our order which with time constraints was annoying, but we did not complain! The adjacent... More

My wife and I very much enjoy our dinners here. The food is nice, the staff always helpful and friendly, and the environment very upbeat!

When I got a ticket to La Filles mal gardee I thought I would treat myself and do the full experience, and booked a table for before the ballet. I chose this restaurant as I liked the menu. Me, a planner, also liked that I received an email asking if I would preorder my meal before my stay, so I... More

We're not sure why this restaurant has attracted some recent negative reviews. We've been using it each time we visit the Opera House and have never had any complaints. The setting and decor makes it preferable to the more expensive Balcony restaurant and the Crush Room is like dining in a corridor. In our experience the service has always been... More

We didn't like our meal at the Amphitheatre Restaurant last time. I don't know if they've changed chefs but this time we loved it! We both had a wonderful dressed crab starter - as good as in any famour fish restaurant. We then both had the lobster risotto which again could not be bettered. I had creme brulle as my... More

Decided to make our visit to the ROH extra special by enjoying dinner in the Amphitheatre Restaurant. The service was good and the food was good but slightly overpriced at £35. Food well presented. Disappointed the bread/cheese course was extremely dry. Fish and chips excellent. Black lentil vegetarian choice flavoursome. Beware the offer of water...the bottles are in situ on... More

This Restaurant does not warrant the 4 stars it gets on Trip Advisor! Had the 3 courses for £35 Dinner Menu; which also has supplements and charges £4 for side dishes; The food was not up to much at all ! You pre-order your meal if you are seeing the Opera or Ballet, and you have your table all evening,... More

We were alway slightly apprehensive having to order a meal 3 days prior to our visit, however, this seemed to be the norm (we later found out this is not always the case). On arrival, the waiters were friendly enough but with an air of indifference. The whole experience was one of a fast food restaurant with a high price... More

Booked this restaurant as wanted to make trip with my 80 y.o. mother as stressfree as possible, and was delightful. Very light courses, but perfect as we had a different restaurant booked for evening. Waiter very attentive. Would definitely do again as provides a relatively calm oasis in the scrum that is interval service!
