We visited this restaurant because it participates in Days Out 2 for 1 deals. *See my note below. We arrived later in the evening on a weekday, and we were seated right away. The decor was more upscale than I was expecting with big windows...More

It's been a while since I was a member of a Club in St James's but when I was I frequently ate at Rowles's. I'm delighted to report it has not changed a bit. Reminiscent of Jeeves and Wooster it is an oasis in the...More

Saw Rowley's on a Groupon so thought it was worth a try. The restaurant is in a backstreet behind Fortnum and Mason and was quiet for a Sunday. We were seated quickly and the staff were very friendly and attentive. When the steak came it...More

Passed Rowley's, following a late evening shopping trip in Jermyn Street, and on a whim went in at about 9pm. The restaurant was not at all full and we were given a pleasant table. The food (entrecote, lamb rump and puddings) was quite good, but,...More

Best meal I've had for ages. We ordered the pate to start followed by the Chateaubriand + spinach and endless chips. Absolutely delicious. The staff are lovely, very welcoming and great service. Rowleys is not the cheapest place to eat, if you just want ordinary...More

Went to Rowleys after the Royal Academy on a recommendation. A good restaurant for boys food- steak, fries, etc. Food very heavy, not terribly well presented and a slight, unstated objection to my 9 week old granddaughter. Did not suit my wife - staff ok,...More

From the outside, it looked very high threshold when I was a penniless student. Now 20+ years first forward and with a variety of dining experiences under my belt, I finally went to Rowley's. It was to have a steak for lunch with a friend...More

St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII,
the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier
destination for high end craft and bespoke design.
Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which
indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the
establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during
a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s
Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing

Not many restaurants have a loyalty scheme, which just goes to show how very loyal Rowley's long-time regulars happen to be. The room is traditionally British, but also informal and relaxed. The menu changes monthly, and always features Rowley's tremendously good char-grilled entrecote steak or breast of Sussex chicken with herb and butter sauce and endless chips. The trad Caeser salad is also terrific. Short, intelligent wine list and the sun-dried tomato chutney served with the cheese is just right. Great for business lunches, or pre- or post-theatre.
