I used to go there quite often a few years back. The food and service were excellent. I love the concept, still do. But the quality of food and service degraded. I had not been in a while in the london restaurant. Went back last night as a walk in. They had space on a Saturday night... says it all.... More

This restaurant really understands how to create a great dining experience. However, there are 2 styles. Downstairs, you have a more bistrot setting where one eats at the counter. Upstairs, you have the more traditional (and quiet) setting of a classic restaurant. The kitchen is open so you see the action while eating. The tasting menu is very creative with... More

We booked three months ago for 4 at 8 pm confirming by phone that we would be in the bar by 7 We took two friends who never get away because they are restaurateurs as a special treat. We arrived , were booked in and went to the bar area where we had cocktails no one said any thing to... More

I have previously dined at this restaurant after I graduated from university and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the lunch time tasting menu with matching wines, great service = SUCCESS!! 5* review should have been written. However, on return to the restaurant on Saturday past, my family and had a different experience. We had the set lunch and the food... More

My friend and I looked this place up on trip advisor whilst we were having a day out in London and we thought we would give it a try! We arrived a bit early so we were escorted up to the bar where we ordered pre-dinner drinks. The bar area and seating was tastefully decorated with subdued lighting. When our... More

The hostess at the door advised us to sit at the counter ,if it was our first experience at L'Atelier. What good advice! From this vantage point the chef and his team work can be seen working so so hard preparing the meals for the entire restaurant, all done in with such energy but without anyone getting another's way. Serving... More

The prices here are at the higher end of the London dining scene but I found the 3-course pre-theatre dinner set menu to be remarkably good value. I didn't get a choice of dishes with the set menu but that wasn't an issue because all three courses were simply awesome! So awesome that I am longing to return to feast... More

I am a luxury travel designer and I dine out often. I ate at L'Atelier tonight with friends expecting a fine dining experience and found the opposite. To be fair, the food was delicious. However, it was overpriced and the service horrible. We were sat over an hour after our reservation and it took ages before someone took our order.... More

I was seated at the counter and had the opportunity to watch the food preparation process at the kitchen. The restaurant, especially the counter, was well-designed. All the food was served in the beautiful plates and presented in an artistic manner. The tasting menu was surprsingly good with caviar, scallop, dumplling, foie gras, fish & meat main dishes, and desserts.... More

Description
Drawing on Joel Robuchon's internationally renowned culinary expertise, already accredited with several Michelin Stars at restaurants throughout the world, L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon's philosophy is based on serving simple cuisine of the most exceptional quality. This London restaurant has been awarded Michelin Star, as well as 3 AA Rosettes, establishing it as one of the most exceptional places to dine in London. Robuchon's menu delights the palate with clean insightful flavours and refreshingly understated presentation. The dishes are predominantly French with Italian and Spanish influences. The dining experience at L'Atelier is an interactive one. On the ground floor, the eating counter surrounds the entire kitchen where the food is prepared. Robuchon sees the immediate benefit of this Japanese-inspired layout to chefs, as one can gauge the reaction of clients, and even converse with them whilst they watch their food being prepared. Unlike the sister restaurants in Paris and Tokyo, the London restaurant also has another 20 seats where diners can sit opposite each other. Meanwhile, La Cuisine on the first floor offers more traditional restaurant seating in a setting that could be likened to dining in the kitchen itself. Wherever you are seated you will enjoy the highest quality food in an informal, convivial environment. Valet parking is also available. Please note, last reservations are taken half an hour prior to closing time. Dress code: Smart Casual, shorts are not permitted.
