Lovely food but far too much, especially on Valentines Day. It was either a set 3 or 4 course meal but we could only manage 3 courses, and felt very full. Great flavours and staff were really great.

We have been going to Caffe Caldesi for over 15 years, more or less since it s opened in 2002. We have never been disappointed, either by the warmth of the welcome, the superb cuisine or the overall experience of savouring fine Italian cuisine and excellent wines in a very pleasant upstairs restaurant. We now live in Brasil, and do... More

The room gets lovely light and I have eaten here with a girlfriend a year ago and had a business lunch two weeks ago. Caffe Caldesi was the perfect setting. It's not too noisy and the food and service is excellent. The Fettuccini Allo Scoligo (sea food) was absolutely superb as was the calves liver in sage butter. The homemade... More

I went to a fantastic cookery class here some years so it was nice to come back! The food was great, especially the cheese and figs, service was good but I felt there was little / no choice for young children. I realise that some restaurants are geared more towards adults but I would have expected an Italian restuarant to... More

The Mem'Sahib pointed this place out to me and when I was in town on my own last week I decided to try it. The reviews looked a bit mixed and it seemed rather tied up in its own image - so I was very pleasantly surprised. But, I must confess, I've had better Italian food at far more reasonable... More

I live in Italy. Previously we had a wonderful coffee and chat some months previously. This time we had a personal problem elsewhere or we should have complained. The Melanzane Parmigiana was congealed lump that had been reheated (compare with wonderful one at Cicchetti). In fact my wife felt unwell the following evening. My fettucine with cinghiale was average at... More

Review rated average because 2 visits on consecutive Sunday evenings were poles apart - amazing hospitality, large portions, fresh starters and amazing banter with the very Italian waiting staff on the first Sunday; tiny portions and far-from-fresh food the following Sunday. Thank you to an amazing waiter on the first Sunday who recommended Montenegro on ice as an after dinner... More

Visited after Christmas with my sister for a quick lunch. Her saltimbocca and my chicken in a lemon sauce were outstanding. I waved my fork about a lot in delight. Light cream walls adorned with photos and typically wonderful Italian staff. Go!

We recently ate her twice in a week. On the first occasion we ate in the upstairs dining room where the menu was enormous and tempting, the wine list substantial and the ambience cosy and Christmassy. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious (we live part time in Italy and only visit 'genuine' Italian restaurants) and I would have... More

We went to Caffe Caldesi for an early dinner. Sadly the atmosphere was unwelcoming. Very few people so the staff was not that busy. Music turned on and off. Wines were fine. Food was bland and disappointing. Certainly not a good standard. Will definitely not be returning.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
