Me and the wife and a family member went to this amazing Spanish restaurant. This was our first visit here while our niece has dined here on numerous occasions and has always been impressed by their food and service. We were warmly greeted on arrival and shown to our table. The interior décor is nice and modern. After dining here... More

After reading the reviews and a personal recommendation we headed for El Pirata of Mayfair. First impression upon arrival was excellent, the staff welcomed us and sat us next to the window which we requested when booking. Based on the service I would love to give this place a 4 or maybe a 5 but to be honest when it... More

This is a really excellent Mayfair classic tapas restaurant. Very cosy small upstairs with a bar, larger downstairs area. Very friendly staff, always welcoming. Great location. Gets busy at lunch times during the week. Excellent menu and really great wines. The set menus offer a great selection at very reasonable prices. They do not rush you

had to call to book this restaurant as they don't use one of the online / app booking providers. When we arrived they had no record of our booking, although found us a table on a busy Saturday evening. The service once seated was good and the food very tasty, however they did forget one of the dishes we ordered... More

We were in London for just one night due to a long layover. My family and I decided we would take the Tube in to the city to walk around and grab dinner. I had recalled that when in London 8 years ago we ate at an amazing Tapas restaurant, El Pirata. I remembered how to get to it and... More

The sheer size of the choice tells you a lot about this place, if you like it they probably have it. I really enjoyed the diversity and taste of the food, felt like I was in Spain. Tasty food, service was good even though it was a busy night, good times, like I like it.

I had the 3 course plus bread and wine offer available before 6pm, everything was spot on and excellent value especially for this part of London. Good service, nice atmosphere, good reasonably priced food, what more do you need?

Had lunch here this week with a friend, the tapas were quiet good however the waiter wasn't very professional, first he forgot a dish that we ordered, then was very rude... eventually it took us 20min to get a the bill whereas there were only 5 tables around us.

Thank Yuhanzm

Critically acclaimed Spanish tapas restaurant El Pirata opened its doors in 1994. Tucked away in the corner of Mayfair next to Hyde Park, El Pirata has become a firm favourite for those wanting an authentic Spanish experience.

Relax at the superb mirrored bar with a drink or two whilst enjoying the atmosphere of the Spanish influenced decor. Whether upstairs or downstairs, you can enjoy the Tapas menu where each dish is individually priced, or if you’re not too familiar with Tapas, choose from our two fantastic set menus.

At lunchtimes enjoy our special lunch menu which offers great value; two tapas dishes, a bread roll and alioli plus a soft drink or a glass of wine for just £10.25 – great value!

Downstairs is ideal for parties and gatherings of up to 60 people. If you prefer a private area for either that important business dinner or a more romantic setting for that more intimate meal, you will find our two private alcoves perfect.

When the weather’s at its best, our four outside tables are an instant hit, but you’ll have to be early because they are snapped up fast!

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
