Barrafina is an awesome tapas restaurant in Soho. It's counter only so not great for larger groups but fantastic for a party of two or three. Also you can not reserve BUT while waiting you can have a drink and smaller tapas! All the staff is Spanish so you get a real authentic feel. The staff are very friendly and... More

Visited the restaurant at Sunday lunchtime. Service was slow and inefficient. Server took over 20 minutes to take food order. It took an average 30-40 mins for each dish to arrive. One dish we ordered did not arrive, but thought we would wait and not make a fuss as we could hear fellow diners next to us complaining of the... More

I would give this lovely experience 5 stars if it were not for the fact that I had to stand for an hour before being seated. Otherwise the tapas and drinks were lovely. In the end it is about good food and good people. I recommend starting with an Estrella beer with coquetas de jamon, bread and olive oil, and... More

The queue to get in this restaurant in the evening is considerable. But they do allow you to wait inside too(they have a small pool around the place where they can serve you drinks and some tapas while you wait to a space at the bar) It is not big, only has places at the bar. The menu is diverse,... More

Went here with high expectations but they were short lived. The we had the Octopus, Iberico ham, croquettes, chips and bravas sauce and chipperones. The Iberico ham and Octopus were both tough. Simply cooking the Octopus longer would have addressed this, but it was chaos on in there and dishes came out 1 by 1. 3 of us were eating,... More

My wife an I had read about this tapas bar the night before and debated whether we should try to dine here that night but although the reviews were good on trip advisor the picture of the dishes did not look appealing. We decided to give it a miss. Walking around China town today we found ourselves walking into Dean... More

Fantastic food and great service- we waited for almost two hours on a Saturday night but once inside you can order a bottle of wine and some tasty nibbles- in good company who cares a bit of a wait! Highlights were the squid croquettes, gambas, courgette flowers and the warm and personalised service- we loved it and can't wait to... More

We arrived at Barrafina after reading lots of reviews on trip advisor. The wait outside was about an hour and then another 20 minutes inside, as we opted for an outside table (we weren't cold, the heaters are great and it's a perfect spot for people watching). Whilst waiting in the inside queue we got some drinks and a couple... More

A very buzzy demanding restaurant which just had to be tried from all the talk about it. arriving at 7pm the queue had around 5-6 people in front. The stool at bar layout expected to be waits however on asking the waiter had mentioned it could be around 1 and 3/4 of an hour wait! the queue seemed very small... More

I thought the food at Barrafina was very good, but didn't quite hit that exceptional mark. Dishes were beautifully plated but some of the flavors were a bit muddy. I had the chorizo, potato and watercress, the morcilla iberica and quail eggs, the olives and a glass of nuviana - the total came to 30.50 pounds. I thought the price... More

Description
Barrafina is an authentic Spanish tapas bar located in London's Soho. It serves a traditional but contemporary, regional a la carte menu and there is a daily blackboard of specials, created by Executive Head Chef, Barragan Mohacho. Barrafina operates a first come first serve queuing system, and does not take reservations for their 23 stools. However, part of the fun of dining there is eating little bites and sipping on something delicious while making the line. The kitchen is open and guests are close to all the action and drama while their food is prepared.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
