Excellent meal at this restaurant and not overly priced for being win such a prime location. There were six of us and all of us rated the meal as either a 9 or 10 with no complaints. Service was impeccable and the menu sufficiently varied to suit most tastes. The variety of fish available was tantalising and all of us... More

Very sad to see this excellent restaurant go!! I have been going for years and now it is gone forever, Another fine old bastion of British life in London that has disappeared into the anals of history a great shame.

This is a small but well known restaurant. Every meal I have had there has been very good. The seafood has been fresh caught and its preparation superb.

This is truly a fine dining experience. Traditional English decor. Wonderful staff and service and delicious food. We were there for lunch on a Saturday, and dined next to members of a wedding party. A wonderful experience in the Picadilly area.

I am currently in Barbados, but my old friend Clayton ( one of Green's most valuable assets ) unable to contact me by phone, took the trouble to contact me through Trip Adviser to invite me to enjoy one last meal before this iconic St James Restaurant closed it's doors for the last time last weekend.. I was devastated to... More

What a shame it will be to lose this true gem of an eatery. I had the Crab bisque and the service was brisk! Welcoming and professional, with a lovely room that if it had ears could tell a few tales...I am sad to hear it's closing down as I would love to have made it my special lunch or... More

As Green's (in this location) will close towards the end of April, I popped in for lunch whilst briefly in London. It will be sad to say goodbye to Duke Street after so many years of delightful meals and fond memories. So I was able to raise several glasses in salute to an old friend and London institution whilst enjoying... More

I must have eaten here 50 times or more over the past 10 years or so. From business lunches to evening meals with friends and family I have never been disappointed. The food is always first class while the service is beautifully old fashioned London, quick, efficient and private. I have always loved the booths which can seat either 4... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
