We were here at lunch. They have a very nice lunch menu. The food is good and the price for this lunch menu is very good value. If you want to take away it is only 6gbp. The portions are large. Staff is friendly, orders come out quick. Also the restaurant is big and can seat a lot of people.

The food here is very good. We asked our server (Arif) for recommendations, and he did a fantastic job. He tailored our dinner to our spice tolerance and preferences and hit all the right notes. Dinner was amazing, from the Pompadaums, to the Egg Apam (off menu), Lamb Madras and Rasmali (dessert). Our second dessert (Golab Jaman) was too sweet... More

Visited with family. We all had Thalia, good mixes of courses but was served in a somewhat dull way. Can recommend the excellent Chocolate Dosa for dessert.

We have been to Chettinad in India and discovered their specific cooking style which is famous in India for being very special. We even had a cooking course whilst there to learn more. This restaurant in the centre of London is fantastic. Their Chettinad chicken is exactly as it should be, if you order one make sure you smell it... More

The food here is very good but the restaurant can get pretty crowded and you do, sometimes, feel 'rushed'. The Chicken Chettinadu is especially good.

We have now been to Chettinad Resturant twice and its a great little place with a real authentic feel of southern India. I love their Masala Dosa's and the squid curry was amazing. Had a veggie friend with us and there was plenty of choice. If you want some great interesting dishes this is the place to go.

I visited this restaurant for lunch, basing my choice on its TA rating. I have to say I was expecting much better. The restaurant is very simple and basic, so was the food and the service as well. I got some lamb which was just okay, with some flat bread and rice that I did not appreciate much. Also, the... More

Nice atmosphere and you can tell it's popular. As a family of 4 we had dinner here on a Saturday evening and felt quite rushed to finish the meal; the staff seemed preoccupied even when they were at our table taking our orders and handed us the bill without us asking. The food was good, nothing amazing but the portions... More

This is the second time we have visited this restaurant and returned again with family. It really is a little gem! The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly, Jey, who seemed to be in charge, is a lovely guy and so helpful! We will definitely return and I can heartily recommend this wonderful restaurant and it's great... More

Description
Welcome to Chettinad, the world of phenomenal South Indian cuisine. Chettinad is a small village in the Southern Tamil Nadu State of India. Chettinad is known for its culinary delicacies and now is one of the many reasons why people get to know Chettinad. We are a no fuss, no frill, stylish, laid back diner, who just speaks of truly and honest South Indian food in the heart of Central London.

We only know how to cook-up good home comfort authentic food freshly made to order with understated approach to service. No meal is complete without traditional Dosa, lentil pancake eaten any time during the day.

Well! Certainly it isn't just another Curry House!!! "Ideal place to try something new if you are a South Indian food virgin"

Back home in Chettinad, your dishes are served on a huge fresh banana leaf, a disposable platter. Contact with your food is direct and tactile as you eat with your right hand, mixing wet into dry ingredients - a messy business for the uninitiated. In Chettinad Restaurant here, we want you to experience authentic original flavours, therefore you would find some of our dishes served with fresh banana leaf.

Today we appreciate and respect that you have entrusted your palate to us, we will take great loving care and take your taste buds on a journey where each mouthful sings a new magical ''WOW'' note.
Enjoy your meal at Chettinad- The Village Restaurant, where "QUALITY MEETS TRADIITON"
