I’m used to this part of East London being a culinary desert, so imagine my surprise, when getting off the DLR at Bow Church, starving hungry, to find this stylish, sizeable cafe next to the Magistrates Court. Really interesting place. They don’t charge a service charge during the week. (I left a cash tip anyway as the service was so helpful) and don’t allow computers at weekend. Food was healthy and beautifully presented without being at all pretentious. Packed with interesting looking people on a Tuesday lunchtime. Hackney must have crept south and east since I last looked. Anyway, after my orange juice with grated ginger was served, a woman hurried up to the table saying she hoped the ginger was not too strong. It blew the top off my head, but for me that was just perfect. I chose granola, yogurt and fruit from the all day breakfast menu. It Even included some pomegranate. Delicious, filling, healthy. I now have a reason to visit Mile End again. Soon.

We were in London for three days for a hen party and thank god this was the first suggestion. The most unbelievable breakfast I’ve ever had. As someone who can’t eat pork, I was over the moon with the selection as the “fry up” tradition has been reworked here to fix our hangovers, but also offer a range of exceptional sweet breakfast alternatives. We came here two days in a row, and although people might be turned off by the queue out the door, it is most definitely worth the wait. Day one I had the veggie breakfast, and day two I had the eggs Benedict. Both absolutely outstanding. The rest of our party enjoyed pancakes, beef sausage breakfast, French toast and the omelettes. Staff were so welcoming and an extra personal touch, the manager did his rounds to greet everyone a good morning and to check that everything was okay. I’d go back to London again just to come here. Made our whole weekend being able to recharge with such high quality food that was also so comforting.

Last day, Sunday noon marks brunch. Very cute place, adorable and attentive servers and the food is delicious. Very light but very tasty, we had the smoked salmon/poached egg brunch and the bacon/scrambled egg brunch and it was delicious. The potatoes are tender with crunchy and smoky skin and the pancakes are just succulent. I had a Greens & Pineapple smoothie and it was also very, very good. I recommend and I will come back, to do with friends, family or lovers!

They brought the order after 20 minutes, but the Salmon Fillet and potatoes, as well as the salad dressing, were excessively greasy. Additionally, the glass they brought me for water had a strong odor. After I complain they just apologize and I paid tge whole money!!!

Popped in on Sunday lunch at 12 and got a seat straight away. It was very busy. It has a cool vibe and is well designed. Their cakes and buns looked epic. I had the burger and it was ok, average price, small portions of chips. Main issue is the burger was just warm so cellars pre cooked or else they don’t know how to use a temperature probe. Considering the price and the added service tip I’d say just average. How er cellar innate minority as by the time I left there were about 30 people queuing out the door. Also of note this is a Halal restaurant due to the location, so despite the reviews it’s not an English fry up. I’ve no issue with that but turkey bacon is the devils work! Fact.

disappointing! We ordered 2 burgers, recommended from the waitress. From the first bite I felt the burger smells very bad. I couldn't eat it and my friend said its smells really bad to. The waitress ask me if everything is ok than I told her that the meat smells and taste very bad.but she didn't do anything.they even didnt offer me to remove the burgers from the bill. We came home and my friend felt sick as she ate more from the burger, I couldn't eat at all. They didn't do anything which is unacceptable. They should atleast offer us smt else

Had a weekend away in London, left my hotel and travelled here to have a breakfast as I searched on Google and this came up as one of the best in the area, the breakfast was amazing however it took a while to come out to me and my partner we ordered hot drinks and they were freezing cold by the time the breakfast had come the breakfast looked really appetising and was amazing until I went to cut a bit of my egg and came across some eggshell Fried into my egg I did tell one of the staff members and all he said was “oh sorry about that, do you want me to get the chef to fry you another egg” and I said no as I was not looking for free food. It Should’ve been done correctly in the first place however he still bought me some eggs and I rejected them because I did not want them. My overall experience was average because the food was nice but this disappointed me, if I do return to London again I may go there however issues like this need to be rectified and things like this shouldn’t be happening in the first place.

I had the pleasure of meeting Malek, an Algerian waiter at the grounded restaurant in London, whose warm hospitality and professional attitude made my brunch experience truly delightful. His genuine care and attention added a special touch to the already wonderful brunch they offer. The dishes were not only delicious but a testament to the culinary excellence of this hidden gem. A must-visit spot, where Malek's exceptional service and the delectable menu create a perfect combination for an unforgettable brunch experience.

I didn't enjoy the food here. The Turkey bacon was bland and had a strange texture. The eggs were overcooked and the bread hard and stale. The coffee was decent but even that had a problem as it took over 15 minutes to get a simple drink order and then another 20 minutes for our food. There are tons of decent places for breakfast in this area and I would not recommend this place.

We passed the cafe yesterday and were amazed to see at least 20 people queueing. We felt that had to be a sign of how good it was. Today we got there at roughly 930 and although 2 couples in front of us we were shown a table within 10 mins. The service was spot on, the staff friendly, the food amazing and very filling. Coffee as people have said really good with no bitterness at all. There were a few families, so children are welcome. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

This place is great, with a lovely vibe and great food. Expect to wait, we visited this place with children during a weekend in London on a Sunday morning. Kids did get a little inpatient. I would probably say this place isn't great for kids because I wasn't offered a children's menu and the portion sizes for the main breakfast items were too big thus the children not being able to finish thier breakfast. However the breakfast was delicious and the staff tried to accommodate and were very helpful and service was generally quick althiugh one of the breakfast was missed when taking the order but no big deal. Would visit again but without children.

We were basically there on our city trip to London. We flew in here for breakfast straight after the airport. It's always busy and there can be a queue outside the door. But we were lucky and can recommend all the breakfasts we had. The staff are very nice. We went back in the late afternoon and the food was very good. In the afternoon the restaurant is not particularly busy as the focus is on breakfast.

I work around the area and if I have time I come here to eat, they have great coffee and beef sausage breakfast is always my go to. Fall of the bone is quite pricey but a must try. Also staffs are great!

Our recent experoence at grounded was really dissapointing. After waiting in a que in the rain outside and 45 mins inside for our food the food arrives. The quality quantity presentation and service has changed. The biggest let down and disrespect was the beans. The beans came in a tiny pot that was half empty this amounted to one spoon of beans if that, bfast with beans, beans = 1 spoon, this was replaced by another tiny pot of beans (tiny tiny pot one which you would use to serve dipping ketchup in) in comparison table next to us received a larger pot with steaming hot beans this would of been atleast 7 of my tiny pot this treatment madd me angry. Yes I ate all my food because of the wait I was cold wet and hungry but it was a let down, disrespect and dissapointing. Goodbye grounded.

Arrived in London for an event and turned up early so went to find somewhere to have something to eat and drink. We walked past Grounded and it looked very popular, lots of people enjoying food and drink inside. We decided to give it a go and was very impressed. The food was delicious and the service and environment very welcoming. The prices were also very good, especially for London. We had a half roast chicken, chips, slaw and the most amazing chilli mayo dip, all for £11.50! Would definitely visit here again, in fact I’d go as far to say I’d go out of my way to find it to have lunch.

Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
