To look at, this is the perfect little place to get fresh Chinese food in a busy cramped cafe vibe, very authentic, and the dumpling makers in the window attract the tourists. Unfortunately, the food doesn't live up to the hype. The dumpling are thick, clumsy and soggy, as are the noodles. The final straw was as my husband was... More

This place is all about the dumplings, handmade in the window. Ignore the rest. The dumplings are fresh and delicious. They are sold in sixes (£5 per six) so we usually grab a portion to tide a hungry teenager over after central London events. If you want to sit, get something else, etc, it can be a more variable experience... More

Ordered duck and char siu rice, hardly any meat on the duck, more grizle and fat, the char siu was dry and hard, never going there again.

I have always loved this restaurant for it's delicious dumplings, quick service & great prices. I used to come here at least every weekend when i previously lived in London. I just couldn't get enough of those incredible hand made dumplings. I went here again for the first time in 2 years, having just moved back to London it was... More

I have been coming here for several years. Their dumplings are legendary. You can watch them being prepared through the front window. Be prepared to share your table with strangers. If you are a large party you may have to split into groups. No booking. No wifi. No alcohol is served as far as I know. Jasmine tea and dumplings... More

I love this place. Well I thought I did. I used to stop here every now and then for some dumplings when I worked nearby. So when I was in London yesterday I thought I'd drop by at lunchtime. The place itself is still the same. Basic but with the emphasis on the food and fast service - which I... More

Worst service ever experienced in my life, if you even call it "service" ... coupled with terrible food. Comment written by a real chinese person.

I was curious about the hand made dumplings but they were a bit tasteless. I was also shocked that they served instant noodles with the duck noodles. Lesson learnt - cheap doesn't necessarily mean good value!

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
