Great food and excellent service pre Theatre. My wife and I were there at 5pm having reserved on line. Starters over generous and excellent steaks as always. Mine was blue and hers medium/well - both cooked to perfection. All accompanied by a fruity bottle of house vineyard Malbec. A biased review as I have been going to Gaucho Piccadilly (Swallow... Birthday treat for my wife. Theater performance followed by dinner. Upmarket and smart location. Staff were very helpful, venue was very stylish and I could not fault the food. A little outside my budget to go regularly but I do hope to return. Thank you

I've been to other Gaucho branches and the service has always been fantastic but we felt let down at this one. When we entered there were staff walking around but we were ignored, not greeted. Checking in at the cloakroom the person was chatting away on their headset rather than concentrating on us. One of our starters was missed as... More

Our second night in London, our concierge recommended Gaucho - Piccadilly. Another fantastic dinner. Our waitress, Valentina??(It was loud so I'm not sure) was so nice, friendly and helpful. She recommended a wonderful red wine from Argentina and brought me gluten free bread with chimmichurri sauce which was also very good. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and we (unfortunately:)) shared... More

Firstly, I recommend booking. You can go in without booking but it's risky and it's worth it. Gaucho specialises in steak, and there is cow hide all over the restaurant - together with chandeliers and tinted mirrors. Not necessarily vegetarian friendly. There are fish dishes, and chicken, but it's about steak. Steak (just steak, no vegetables) is about £25 upwards.... More

We visited friends in London at the weekend who took us here on Saturday night, table was already booked a few weeks ago. Fantastic service, great location, fun but not tacky - a very grown up / modern restaurant. Food was awesome!!! Ok, a little expensice but well worth it. Make sure you are hungry!! I had the filler and... More

Food was great, as usual, however a small accident occurred involving my back and therefore the shirt that i was wearing having wax spilt on it, the maitre d whose name was Juan took the trouble to take my details, call me back later and ensure that all was well. So thank you Juan. Regards Pat

SEcond time I have eaten here - it is a small fortune but it is high quality meat and perfectly cooked Don't bother with a starte - not needed - best cut of meat is the 200g or 300g of rump - 200g is more than enough. don't even bother with sides

Lovely food. Steak was spot on..sides were interesting and nice also. Decor is spot on, as you would expect, and the service was excellent. Obviously expensive and the only reason I marked a 4 instead of a 5. . :)

My friend booked here for his stag night , have heard only good things about Gauchos , a party of 7 blokes , we were shown to a private area away from the main restaurant , opulent decor and great atmosphere but tucked away in a different room lost this. Expecting it to be pricey but not the rip off... More

Description
In a prime location off Regent Street, Gaucho Piccadilly is an upmarket Argentinean steakhouse housed in the old wine cellars of the Mexican ambassador. The vaulted restaurant is decked out in cowhide, a knowing nod to the chunky menu full of cuts of luxury steak, including the tender Bife de Lomo, aged for six to eight weeks and then flown in from Buenos Aires. Large selection of Argentine wines, bar and late-night supper lounge.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
