Found this place walking through whitby and what a find. I'd actually give this place 6* if I could. Dog friendly with water bowls outside and jugs of water to top them up. We had 2 breakfast and 2 coffees , was about to order sausages for the dog, when the waitress said they have sausages for dogs!!! I was... More

My husband and I have eaten here once before, but then I forgot to write a review. This time we had a friend with us for a mid-aftenoon break for coffee/tea. Our friend and I had ice cream sundae and some tea, and my husband had a piece of cherry pie and coffee. The food/snack and drinks were excellent. Very... More

We chose Monks Haven for lunch on a busy bank holiday weekend, mainly because there were tables available (many of the longer established cafes and restaurants had longish queues outside). First impressions were good and it soon became apparent that this little cafe is a cut above the majority of the town's other cafes and restaurants. We all ordered fish... More

Our family of 4 went to Monks Haven late afternoon on Good Friday. We can honestly say that it was some of the best fish or scampi and chips that we've ever had. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere and pleasant decor and Helen and her staff are friendly and efficient. I particularly liked having a glass or two of... More

Second time of calling here for a sit down, to enjoy the day go by with a cup of tea, and, again we were forgotten about (maybe due to being sat outside?) Staff didn't seem interested and no apology on either occasion. Must remember next time to keep walking and chose a different, friendlier and more on the ball place... More

Went in here around 4pm as it said dogs were welcome. We had fish and chips, hubby had normal and I had small, just right size for me. Dog was given sausage which she thougoughly enjoyed and we had lovely coffees. Staff were really friendly after a long busy day. Will definately be back, maybe have to try breakfast.

On our day out in Whitby it was great to find a lovely cafe which welcomed dogs, I had a tasty cheese and ham sandwich which came with salad crisps and coleslaw my wife had a giant toasted teacake with a choice of cinnamon butter or plain. The staff were very friendly, when all the tables are full constantly it... More

Situated on Church Street in the heart of old Whitby. Great spot for breakfast especially as we were staying a couple of minutes away. The large breakfast is massive so unless you are extremely hungry don't consider it. The smaller version (Which is by no means small would be adequate). The Fortunes Kippers and scrabbled eggs is a great way... More

It's a nightmare finding somewhere that the hubby deems clean enough to eat in when out and about so we entered this place with me half expecting him to change his mind once inside.....this place got the thumbs up!! It's an Olde Worlde type place with a very good menu. We opted for quiche (came microwaved but very tasty) and... More

Excellently prepared breakfasts with a range of options including kippers. Friendly (?) owner/server. Dog friendly. Range of gifts also available though no bargains. Go for one of the standard breakfasts with drink included, as cheaper than other options plus a paid drink (if you follow me!).
