A tiny room, but big enough for 1 person. Single bed was very comfortable. Had tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. Had a great view across the fields. Toiletries, but no shampoo/conditioner. Wifi was good. Excellent staff, very helpful. Dinner was lovely and plentiful as was breakfast. A great little sitting area out the front on a warm night.

We stopped for a meal here and having just dropped in without booking we were found a table and given a warm welcome. There is a good choice of food which is reasonably priced and pretty tasty too... good pub food.

We were one of two couples in the restaurant and our meal was dominated by the other couple complaining about the standard of cooking saying that the chef did not know how to cook mussels. This put a dampener on our meal which was ok but not special. This is really a walkers pub , it is on the coast to coast... Ate here on our coast to coast trip. Lasagne was good and home cooked, vegetable chilli ok, small portion.

We had excellent meals in this nice pub. It takes s little finding but it's in a nice quiet location.

THE best steak and ale pie (said my hubby and he ate a lot of it on the C2C) anywhere - substantial in size, loads of chunky, tender steak and delicious gravy. Plenty of veg and tatties to fill him up too. It feels like a local pub inside which is quite nice, very laid back but we were served... More

Went as a family group of 9, amazing food, great service and very prompt. I had the parmesan chicken which was nice and had sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Also try the Viking beer on the hand pump, nice!!!

Pub itself a little 'tired' but the food is great, had small Sunday lunch which was huge portions, it would take a brave person to attempt the large !!!

Very poor quality, flavourless scalping with dirt vein still in. Cheap burgers. Never got askked if we wanted ice/lemon in our Bacardi and Cokes.

Big portions, great meat and tasty veg. We all had the Sunday lunch, the small portion is enough for a good appetite. If you have a large portion bring your eating pants.
