My nephew from the States visited in April and him and his wife said what an interesting place this was. My daughter was visiting last weakend so we gave it a try. The place was busy but we soon found seats, great atmosphere and the food was really excellent (beef in beer stew, cheese board and a burger)? We stayed... More

Want to make it clear this is a review for today. Went in. Two lads down in shop near till said hi. Lad at bottom of the stairs ignored us when waiting to ask a question. We decided to take ourselves up stair to bar and restaurant. Sat down. Looked at each other and said we can't stay here. It... More

We have air conditioning but the heatwave last week was ridiculous. 2 more air conditioning units were brought in on 25th May as well, it's raining now so it's back to usual. More

Trembling Madness is an ideal pub. It's a great hang! The beer selection is awesome and the food is local and tasty. I found the staff to be very friendly and clearly the locals dig this place as well. You can't beat the atmosphere at this pub, it's medieval looking and very cozy, an excellent place to get out from... More

We went as a group of friends on a Friday night for a drink. We did have to queue but not for long as it was busy so was a case of one in one out but it was worth waiting for. It is small but was buzzing with atmosphere and the staff were warm and welcoming so we did... More

A great bar located not far from York Minster. A very old building with the establishment situated over a number of floors - a large shop selling alcohol downstairs with a nice quirky bar upstairs with a window through which the Minster's spires are visible. Friendly staff - not pretentious. Recommended!

What a great name! Very busy when we were here, clearly a popular spot. Traditional pub food (well done) and good selection of beers. Had to wait a while for table/food, but it was very good. Lots of great little 'oddities' dotted around the place. Kept me interested anyway

Popped in for a quick drink on Tuesday 16th May and ended up staying for a couple of hours. Great range of ales and the Plum Porter was amazing. A special thanks to John behind the bar who kept us amused with stories about his acting and his beard !! Really fun way to spend an afternoon. Thanks.

We came here for a light lunch and although it was busy got served quickly. Food is very fresh, tasty, and good value for money. A very good choice of beers etc.

Was recommended to go here quite late on a Thursday evening. The bar was busy, but we were seated and served quickly and efficiently. They had a good range of beers and the food was excellent. Worth a visit for the name alone!!

I absolutely loved it in here. Not what I expected at all! We went upstairs, is quite small and cosy but the atmosphere is great. The beers were fantastic and the staff were brill. We didn't end up eating here because we stopped off first which we regretted because the food looked and smelt amazing! Really reasonably priced too! 👍🏼
