Wet and horrible day but the staff in Pig and Pastry are still putting a smile on everyone's faces. Lovely atmosphere and amazing staff members, not to mention the fantastic choice of drinks and food.

We have breakfasted at Pig and Pastry on our last two trips to York. Both times we've been met with a warm friendly welcome and enjoyed great coffee and food. I would highly recommend the waffles with bacon and maple syrup - delicious..!

Have scoffed amazing food from here for a long while now, however until today I've managed to successfully avoid writing a review by simply pretending the internet doesn't exist. Today though, I was bribed into action with blackjacks. A simple yet devious ploy. I've now...More

Little gem of a place. Had breakfast, fantastic all home cooked to order. Perfect relaxing atmosphere but only small. Even bought some lovely quiche for later in the day.

A small cafe, cosy and unpretentious. Found this by searching online for a cafe that serves a good breakfast. We weren't disappointed, it was yummy and very reasonably priced. It got very busy when we were there. Would have loved to have sampled one of...More

We're just a little family run local cafe
We're only small, but if you don't mind sharing a table, there's room for everyone
We don't have table service and we don't have paper menus. (our menus are written up on the wall and they change regularly)
The kitchen closes at 3pm, but you can still get coffee and cake after this time
We are not part of a chain, there is no CEO creaming off the profits.
We are just a little cafe doing our best, with the best ingredients we can get our hands on
