There are always many beers and several ciders for sale in good condition. The building is old and pleasant. It is quite elegant. It was a working part of the station. I don't think they play background muzak, thank goodness.

Had some time to kill when meeting friends so called in here. Once again we tried the Criek Cherry beer, it's £6.60 a pint but what a wonderfully refreshing pint it us. Sets you up nicely for the day.

Straight as you get if the train you can grab a beer at this great pub. There was about 8 of us on a pub crawl round York, and this place was recommended as a starting pint as it's where you get off the train. Lots of real ale, reasonably priced. Very traditional boozer with a great busy atmosphere.

We regularly use both the York Tap and the Harrogate Tap both very good pubs with a wide choice of real ale and snacks we particularly like the cheese platter as a snack at lunch time and it is very handy for the station having an entrance straight onto the platform

If you are remotely interested in real ale or heritage then a visit to the York tap must be worth a visit!, Up to 18-20 different beer's housed in a central circular bar.

Quite a find. I had NO idea they offered so many ales..up to 20 ! AND some very well priced snacks on slate to nibble at. Price s vary between £3.40 to £4.00 on average which is very good if you are from the South. Fake but still atmospheric fires

We decided to pop in here for a pint before travelling to Cattal for a meal at the amazing Victoria. Well, we could have easily stayed here all night.......what an AMAZING selection of beers, lagers and ciders.... ooh..... decisions, decisions.... however we did sample a few halves, with a very helpful bar member, advising us of the selection available... numerous... Really needs to be revamped and the smell at the seats near the gents was awful. It is drab and dated. Get it updated.
