Had my baby shower here and had an amazing time. Staff are extremely helpful and very accompanying. The cakes and sandwiches were amazing and found the whole experience excellent value of for money. Highly recommended

A beautiful venue with a delicious selection of sandwiches, homemade cakes, scones and teas to choose from. Despite a family emergency causing the main café to close, they still opened up the upstairs function room that we hired to throw a baby shower and served possibly the yummiest afternoon tea I've ever eaten. There was such an abundance of food... More

Very friendly with excellent tea and cake. Informal and comfortable -- will definitely go back soon.

Warm, friendly and attentive staff. The food was good and the view of the Roman Wall with a bank of gorgeous dafodills and the Minster in the background was wonderful. Will certainly return with friends in the future.

We've passed this place many times in the past but never been in, however today we'd been working hard clearing greenery from the cemetery nearby and were in need of a restorative cuppa and bun, so knowing it'd changed hands recently we thought we'd finally give it a spin, even though quite late in the day. Staff were quick, friendly... More

This cafe has recently changed hands. On the day we visited the cafe was cold. We received no greeting. The cappuccino was thin and watery. This was a very disappointing visit to a previously excellent cafe.

A friend and I stopped here for a cup of tea while walking around the city, and it was a true delight. They have a wide range of teas and coffees, but the yorkshire tea with scones they served us was fantastic. And nothing less could be said about the service. Staff is very friendly and polite, and we had... More

We spotted this welcoming 'Eating Gem' whilst walking round the city walls. It more than lived up to our expectations. Leek, cheese and potato pie with salad followed by butterfly cakes - all home made and delicious, provided the sustenance for an afternoon of further sight seeing. The cake / scone selection was very tempting. All made on the premises.

We came in a group of 8 and putting tables together so we could sit together was no problem. The cafe is beautifully decorated with quirky pieces that make the room very fun but beautiful. We certainly felt at home here and the staff are very welcoming. The victoria sponge was by far the best i've ever had and this... More

Me and mrs fishers is an old styled cafe which is just brilliant. Small and very welcoming. Good wholesome homecooked food. Quality ingredients sensibly priced.
