My wife and I visited here with my wife and my niece who is 6. It was lovely. Both the savoury and sweet selection was lovely. All clearly home made and to a very high standard. The desserts were particularly special! Unlimited tea as well. There was plenty of food and they kindly let us take what was left home.... More

We fancied treating ourselves and so booked to have the two course afternoon tea. It did not disappoint. The savoury selection was very tasty with sandwiches, bruschetta and a flan and the sweet course had cream scones, friuty custard tarts and a to die for chocolate bombe. The choice of teas (or coffee) was plentiful and refillable. The tea room... More

As a coeliac I've found it very difficult to have a nice afternoon tea without having few choices or bought in shop food. This was a lovely change all my food was home made and delicious. I had the savoury dishes first of which I had sandwiches including coronation chicken, egg mayonnaise, Brie and also a mushroom tart. Seeded roll... More

Wow! Gorgeous. Lovely decor and delightful crockery. The afternoon tea with prosecco was delicious. The savoury course was gorgeous. Egg Mayo, Smoked Salmon, mini quiches, savoury scones, beetroot and homous, ham etc... V filling so we had little room for the sweet course. The sweets were hot scones with jam and cream, many delicious treats. We decided to take them... More

Popped into this café following a visit to its neighbouring property 78 Derngate. The room itself is beautiful and we had a lovely view. The décor is in keeping with the period of the house. It's a charming and relaxed environment. Service was quick and friendly. Prices are very reasonable - you get a substantial and scrumptious afternoon tea with... More

The afternoon teas are amongst the best I have had having been to all the best hotels in London but none have succeeded like the Derngate. It's a joy to have proper homemade food and scones that do not leave a nasty taste On the roof of the mouth like shop bought !

This is the refectory side of 78 Derngate..it's good food, not cheap but on our visit, it was very good. It's nice to visit 78Derngate, and finish up in the dining room. All well worth the experience, it's a really nice setting And a lovely house, which is now attached to 78 for those who are not familiar with Charles... More

We booked a table for 10 for a birthday treat. The room is small, but they managed to fit in a long table for us with 3 waitresses serving. The presentation and quality of the food was very good with a nice selection of "small bites" and sandwiches with tiny cakes and lashings of tea and coffee - additional types... More

We went for breakfast and were so impressed by the lovely, homely, quirky decor. The chef was very accommodating and made the children French toast even though they were not on the menu! We are looking forward to visiting again for afternoon tea xx
